Cleaning and an Ugly Cricket

I've been cleaning out the kids rooms.... well, it started with just changing out their clothes for the season, but once I "got in there," I realized it needed a LOT more work. In Amy's room alone, I got rid of an entire garbage bag of stuff. Mostly garbage, but I was able to weed out some toys (without her knowing). Where does this stuff come from?? Today I tackled Will's closet. I wanted to trade out his clothes as well as get the newborn stuff ready for Tyler.

Last Saturday night I told Lee I thought maybe I had a contraction. (which is totally normal! For most people (not Ashley!!) your body has little ones the entire month prior. That didn't happen with either Amy or Will though.) Anyhow, that sent Lee in a "the baby is coming" panic and by noon the next day..... the car seat was washed, the base installed in a car, and the pack n play (Tyler's "crib" until Will gets into a bed) was ready to be set up. Actually, it really made me laugh. I told Lee we had plenty of time, but Mr. Preparedness was taking no chances!

The kids have had a ball with the baby things...... they argue over who gets to sit in the carseat... (Will won this time).....

I guess he won because Amy was preoccupied with putting her "animals" to sleep...... she then kicked me out of my own room because George (the money) was taking a nap.

While cleaning Will's room (obviously not complete by the background!), Amy went in to the bathroom and found a cricket. Well, technically it's a cricket. My family has always called them "jumping spiders." UGH! I H.A.T.E those things!! Huge roaches don't exist here (thankfully) but these horrible things do. She managed to catch it, put in a jar and carry it around all day. She also kept trying to show me and got mad when she asked what we should name him and I said, "Ugly." "But Moooooommmm! You are hurting his feelings!!" She was even more mad when I said I didn't care. Ugh!!! (shivering) Those things are awful!

Lately two people I have never even met, have been so nice and given us baby gifts.....

The first was the lady across the street. We've waved and such but have never "officially" met. Anyhow, the other day she came over, introduced herself and gave me this gift. Wasn't that just so nice???!!! And secretly I was so grateful for the onesies. I have no idea where the newborn clothes are and I figured I could get by for a few days with these. :)

Another was from Lee's co-worker- well, his wife. Who again, I've never met either of them. When the guy (Josh) brought the basket to Lee, he said, "This is from Gladys." Lee said, "Who??????" Josh said, "my wife!"  Lee felt bad! haha

So here we are.... almost prepared for little Tyler. As prepared as you can get for a newborn, I guess! We are definitely getting excited! I can't believe there's only 20 or so days to go! Wow!

Lee "yelled" at me again last night (well, he just gets onto me, he's NEVER actually yelled at me). He was frustrated with me when he came home and found the van outside and my old door coffee table pulled out. I assured him I wasn't working on it, but rather trying to figure out how to make it not so wobbly. (Yes, that means, if I had figured it out I WOULD have been working on it. hahaha) But he told me I have until Easter to get any projects I want done.... and then I have to SIT until the baby comes. blah, blah. Sitting is for wimps. :)

  2. Your daughter is nuts. My name would be ugly as well. Picked up gram, nice to have her home again, sorry Nel but glad you got a nap. Now your turn for a nap Sarah, Lee shouldn't have given you so much leeway. You should be resting now, it won't be lasting long. Love always.

  3. You make me laugh. We are similar in so many ways. I 'm sure I would've been out working on things, too. (hello, ceiling fan) Cute baby gifts! Glad the kids are excited about him coming soon!

Thanks for such a nice visit while I was there. It was so nice to see the kids and you and Lee. I hope you will be able to come here this summer.
