Amy is crazy about her hair. Everyday she insists on a low ponytail. She's very specific about the feel of it and since she runs around a lot- you end up retying the ponytail a thousand times. Drives me nuts. Yesterday morning I decided to try a new tactic..... I pulled up a website with a ton of little girl hairstyles and told her to pick one out. I figured if it was her choice, she'd go for it...... and it worked! (it also helps that we don't have church until 1pm, so there's plenty of time!)
She loved it. I loved it and best of all- I wasn't retying a pony tail a million times. I told her we could pick a new hairstyle every Sunday. Only she misinterpreted it and wanted to pick a new one today as well. I was fine with it. She went for the fishtail braid today (she added the blue headband). I hope she lets me keep doing her hair- I have to admit- it's a lot of fun!
We call Amy the "Bug Whisperer" because bugs just appear before her. It's the craziest thing! And of course, she LOVES it! This morning a roly poly walked right up to her and she had a blast playing with it all morning.

Will loved watching it too (though he looked away when I took the picture.
Yes! She even slept in her hairstyle! We are crossing a new bridge!) |
My lovely Visiting Teaching, "Mama Mary," came to visit today and we were able to spend a long time just chatting away. I *LOVE* her! After that, it was beautiful out, so I took the kids out for about an hour and a half. After that, I was tired. It was almost Will's afternoon nap time, so I let them watch an episode of Blue's Clues. Will snuggled right into the chair and relaxed. I guess he was tired too! He did take a great nap- which is always nice!
Happy Spring!
What great hairstyles. I remember when your mom used to make Anna pick out her socks the night before school because of the wars in the morning, and I remember that worked too. Our weather turned COLD today 36. Yikes sure different from the 80 of last week. They are really worried about the fruit trees, as here they have begun to blossom and freeze would kill them all. It's been a wonderful spring, but looks like we may pay dearly for the warmth. Love always.
ReplyDeleteVery cute hairstyles. I can't wait for B to have some more hair. Ah, bugs...right now were into collecting rocks! Bugs will probably be right around the corner...ha, ha!! Will looks so cute cuddled up in the chair.
ReplyDeleteGreat hair! What's the site?
ReplyDeleteI love the hair styles--you always were able to do fantastic hair jobs. I always liked the French braids you did too.
ReplyDeleteWe're having a light snow out tonight. I only hope it is only a light one. We don't need a big pile of snow after such a warm winter. Love to you all, Gram
