Monday wasn't as busy as the other days. I have to admit- I'm getting a little worn out! The kids, and myself, don't really sleep well in strange beds. I must be up and down a million times a night! Oh well, it's worth it, right?
We got a lot of storms during the mid-day here. We all went to the basement at one point while a tornado passed over us. There was some damage in other parts, but thankfully it wasn't as bad as it could have been.
In the later afternoon, I got a chance to visit my old friends Marsha and Matt. I've known them for 12 years now, Marsha and I used to work together. We became instant friends and have remained that way ever since. I just love her, and her husband, Matt. Matt looked so different from the last time I saw him! He's grown his hair out and grown a goatee. I kept telling him he looked like Matthew McConaughey! I think he was flattered. They've recently remodeled their entire house and let me tell you, it's gorgeous!!! They have a great eye for decorating!
When I got home, Dad was still itching from a poison ivy outbreak (from when he cleared out the brush in that little bobcat). Since it was late at night, he couldn't go to a doctor, so we researched some natural remedies. One of them was apple cider vinegar, on wet paper towels.
He let the towels sit for 20 minutes. We were all dying from the smell. And I don't think it really worked. He's going to the doctor today. :)
And Amy took this picture of Adeline, she wanted to make sure I included it too.
Today there are a lot of little projects to do. Then we head out in the morning. While we love our family, we are getting excited to get back to our own routine... and beds!
From the sounds of some of your old entries, your kids don't sleep all that well in any bed. We were wondering about the weather there as we had heard Woodstock had gotten hit. Glad you are all safe. Amy did a good job with the picture. Love always.
ReplyDeleteAll you have to do now is teach Amy how to put the things on the blog and you'll have it made. She did a really good job with Adelines picture. Glad the storms missed you and hope there won't be anymore. Do have a safe drive home tomorrow. How close to where you live did the flooding in Chatanooga sp? happen? Hope you will not have any trouble getting home. Drive carefully and let us know when you get home. Much love to you all, Gram
