The Discovery Center

It's been raining here, which is a good thing, but not for stir-crazy kids. So yesterday we really long.... and really boring. Today I decided we had to do something about that- if nothing else but save my sanity. I had heard about the Discovery Center and how fun it was. So we headed there for some play time.

It's like many other children museums/play places. There are different stations and each is something different and fun. The kids had a great time. I think they had stimulation overload! So many new and fun things to do!

In the Firetruck. Will was a great driver, even though he couldn't reach the pedals.

Admiring the turtles

Admiring some small birds. Will started chirping at them. It was funny.

Will like the car fixing station. Sorry for the fuzzy picture

I tried to get Amy to take this, so it's really fuzzy! But I thought that big, old bike was cool!
(a lady walked by and laughed at me!! haha)

Being train engineers

Will also loved the wheels

The place has 22 acres of wetlands. We only walked around a part of it.

Supposedly there are beavers, ducks and other type things.
We didn't see anything- it was too cloudy.

The painting/art area

She drew a fish. She had just made a paper plate/tissue paper fish, but we forgot it.

Amy LOVED riding this giraffe!

And of course, my kids found and L.O.V.E.D the water area.
What can I say? I've been a good influence. hahaha.

There are lots of other areas, I didn't get pictures of everything. We were just getting the lay of the land today. I decided to buy the season pass because I know we'll be back. Plus, all the programs are free with the pass, so I'm sure it's worth it. Now we have somewhere else fun to go!!

  2. I like the fun center better than the woods!!! I can see why the kids had such a good time. We have a great Childrens museum here with a play area too. Next time you come we'll have to plan on going. I'm so glad you are searching out all the new places to go for a fun day. It helps you keep your sanity and keeps the kids learning too. Much love to you all, Gram
