Truly, he is. Of course I love the kid to death, but that little smile is what keeps him from getting stuck in his crib all day. He's into everything. And he's such a boy! Trust me, from having one of each- these kids are born a certain gender. And that gender is exactly like everyone says it is. Right now, everything is a sword. I gave Will a dry spaghetti noodle (to eat, while I was making spaghetti) and instead he said, "hiya!" and tried to slice me with it.
Today, it was project day. Actually, freezer project day. I had bought some freezer meals from someone at church, and they were so nice to have. But we didn't love them. And my sweet husband said he loved my cooking better... so I decided to take one day and make them all. And I did!
What you see pictured is 36 bean/rice burritos, 2 lasagnas, 1 alfredo, 1 baked spaghetti, 2 loaves of cooked bread- but 3 more in dough stage, 2 batches of cooked cookies- but a bowlful of dough needing to be frozen, and 3 batches of cinnamon rolls. Whew!!
But while I was busy doing all that.... Will was doing all of this....
Every single thing on the floor was put there by him. Amy just came in the room to exclaim, "Will! You made a big mess!"
The real kicker was when I cleaned room out of the freezer (we have a stupid, tiny side by side fridge/freezer. Seriously- the maker of those was an idiot- you can't get anything in the freezer!). I took an old loaf of bread and decided to disguard it to make room for all the above pictured stuff. Well, Will saw it and had fun squealing and throwing it around.
Sigh. It's just more crumbs right? Soggy, melted freezer burn crumbs.
Anyways, I finally got so tired of him creating a disaster, that I stuck him on the stovetop (no, it wasn't hot or even warm, for that matter). Luckily he had a spoonful of cookie dough to keep him occupied.
And Amy enjoyed her's too. I tried to take them outside for awhile, to tire them out. But Will likes to run away, and I get tired of chasing him.
Oh look- he found the empty salt box and decided to shake it around... this was after I swept, in preparation to have the Elder's over for dinner.
And, wonder what the red mark is on his face? It's a lipstick mark. Amy found some lipstick in the church bag on Sunday, then happened to give Will a kiss. She then realized it made a mark. Now she thinks it's the greatest thing in the world. And I'm constantly hiding lipsticks.
Anyhow- that was my day. A very exhausting one. Bedtime is probably my most favorite time of the day. And I'm happy to say they are both in bed. YeeHAW!!
(I'm saving the mopping and rest of the kitchen clean-up for tomorrow)
And I thought I had good reason to be tired. Yesh, you definitely made the most of the day. And Will is still alive to talk about it. Good day!
ReplyDeleteYikes, like I said, read your blog and I need a nap. Be ready when gram gets a chance to see the blog for her to comment on your choice of seating space for Will. With those smooth tops, a kid can't tell their hot or not and your "quiet child" Will may decide to climb up there sometime. I agree about those side-by-sides. How did you get all of that in there, especially the lasagna? Next, wouldn't it be easier to make double when you cook something then freeze half so you don't need to do it all at once? Just thinking. Well, I won't say keep busy you do that on your own. Love always.
ReplyDeleteYou never cease to amaze me! You have such energy and ambition! Great idea to have freezer meals on hand. Looks like Will had fun in the meantime!
