Time with MeMe

Friday night, Lee and I had tickets to see Wicked in Nashville. I've been dying to see it for years!

It did not disappoint. We loved it and I can't wait to see it again. If you've never seen it, and it comes to a theatre nearby, I urge you to splurge and go see it. It was truly incredible. I never thought I'd see the moment where I actually teared up when the Wicked Witch died! That's how powerful the play was. Anyhow- I could go on and on, but I won't. :)

I also should mention that the tickets I got were the very last row of the entire theatre. Lee made fun of me all night long. I told him I was trying to save money... and well folks, you heard it here first... he told me to spend more money next time. hahaha.

Mom (MeMe) was gracious enough to visit us this weekend and in turn, watch the kids while we went to the play. While I'm sure there are lots of able bodied people here, it was nice to have her here- and a great excuse for a visit! She declared that the drive here was 1000 times better than the drive to Mississippi, so I'm sure she'll make it again.

We got home pretty late, and were pretty tired Saturday morning. So after breakfast- we all took a nap! haha. After our nap, we decided to go to a waterfall that we've been wanting to visit. Some friends told us it was only an hour away, but our GPS told us it was 2 hours. After about an hour of driving, we got tired and decided to stop at some caverns instead. We opted not to walk in them though. It was pretty expensive, plus caves freak me out. Then, it turns out, there was a huge sign saying it wasn't recommended for pregnant women. There was a mile and a half walk into it, plus over 350 stairs down. And then we decided that even if we wanted to, we could never do it with the kids.

So everyone played around instead. It was a nice day out.

There was a maze thing that Amy had fun crawling around.

You could pan for gems. We didn't, but Amy liked playing in the water. I think Mom found a few small stones in the bottom for her.

Took a family photo....

and one with MeMe...

Will enjoyed wandering....

and Amy caught a grasshopper. We actually got to take this home. This morning, as we got in the van for church, Amy declared, "You can throw it out now, he's dead." Poor grasshopper... he didn't stand a chance once Amy caught him.

So even tough we didn't "see" anything specific, we had fun driving all through mountain roads and being together.

  2. Exact same thing happened the first time we saw Wicked. I was trying to save money and bought the cheapest ones. We were about 3 rows from the top. And Stephen told me to spend more money next time, so we did when we went to the Fox in September.

  3. Glad you had such a nice day. It looks like the weather cooperated too--how nice. I have heard the play was real good to, the name didn't impress me to even inquire about it and after so many good comments from others kind of wish I had given it more thought. Oh well, if it comes back around here maybe I'll try to see it. Glad your day was good and I know MeMe enjoyed her time with you all. Much love to all, Gram
