Stats

No new pictures (sorry), just wanted to post the kids stats, otherwise I'll never remember them. The kids finally had check-ups at the pediatrician's today. I don't think Amy's been since we left GA 3 1/2 yrs ago. Oops!

Anyway- both kids are small- that surprised me. I guess I've always compared them to Jackson, Maddox and Adeline (who are all small) and mine always seemed big. But on the grand scale- they are small as well.

Amy weighs 38 lbs and is 41 in tall. She's about 30% for both.
Will weighs 23 lbs and is 32 in tall. He's 60% for height and 20% for weight.

The doctor wasn't concerned about either. Amy is proportional, which is what is most important. Will is just tall and skinny, with a big head (like his daddy). And it's normal for kids to be smaller (weight wise) at this age because they never stop moving. Something we are familiar with! So they are both healthy kids!

In other news- Amy started her shots today. (sniff, sniff.) I've been holding out, but in order for her to be ready for school in the fall, we needed to start them now. She got her first round of DTAP and Polio. She was a trooper and really brave. Afterwards we got a "magical milkshake" and the pain just disappeared. Imagine that! Lee was off this afternoon and thankfully he was able to go with me. He said, "I don't know how you do this by yourself!" I think my stock just went up. :)

I also had an appointment this morning. I took the kids because I thought it would be quick and figured Amy would have fun hearing the heartbeat. And she did! We took a little video for Lee (who couldn't be there). I'll try and figure out if I can upload it as it's on my camera phone. What I didn't expect was all the questions with just the exam room. Upon seeing the stir-ups, "Mom! What are those for??" Upon seeing a picture of the inside of the female part, "What is that, Mom?"  The answers were "Look! I can put my feet in them." Amy said, "that's so silly!" And to the picture, "That's just something the doctor uses." Both answers satisfied her. Sorry- wasn't ready to go there yet!

Next month we have our ultrasound and just to warn everyone now- We are not finding out what this baby is. That's right, as of right now, we are NOT finding out. We have one of each, and plenty of stuff for either gender- so we are letting this one be a surprise. Sorry Charlie, you'll have to find out in April, just like us. :)

So, that's our stats updates for now.

Oh- quick story.... the Dr prescribed some medicine for Will. It's just to have on-hand to stop a possible prolonged seizure. So I went to pick it up. They couldn't find it, couldn't find it. While looking, the lady said, "You know it's $400, right?" I said, "Four HUNDRED dollars??" She was like, "Yeah...." At this point I'm thinking that I am not getting it. I mean, really, $400?? For something to just have on hand? So she says, "Do you have insurance?" "Yes." "Let me run it though and see if it took." Well, the computers were slow, she calls the insurance place and then says, "Nevermind, it'll be $5." I said, "FIVE dollars?" "Yep, $5." Wow- that was a HUGE price difference!! Yay for insurance!! I'm sooooo thankful we have it now!!!

  2. Well again I have to take a nap, if you don't soon have some slow days I won't ever have to get up. Glad you had the kids looked at, I know you don't agree, but I really do think it's important. About what you are having, I think it's fine not knowing as like you said it doesn't really matter this time. Denise still hasn't said if she knows or not. They wanted to be surprised and all of you kids were a surprise when you were born. A lot more yellow and green selections in kids clothes then though. Ain't insurance grand. I really can't see why there is such a difference though. What if a parent needed to have that and had no insurance. It just makes me mad. Now on the 17th they will find out Will is fine and just trying to give you guys a little something to keep your hearts pumping. Love always.

  3. Oh I didn't mind taking the to the Dr this time. They needed their checkups and I was curious as to how they were growing. I just didn't like the MS doctor and couldn't find one that I liked. I really like this guy, here in TN. :)

  4. Glad you had the kids to the Doctor. Also happy about the shots as I know they have done a lot to help people all through the years. I too am surprised the kids are considered on the small size. They look really good to me. I can believe your experience with the cost of the meds as I have had a few shockers too with my prescriptions. I have just hit what is known as the donut hole and pills I paid eight dollars they wanted me to pay 150.00 for a one month supply. I called my doctor and told him I wanted some other pill as I wasn't going to pay thay and he did find a good substitute that will only cost me four dollars a month--go figure. I think it's so wrong that the drug companies are able to do that with the prices. Oh well, I guess we are at least lucky they can find something to help. Love to you all and stay healthy!! Gram
