Relaxing... but yet, not.

We've had a pretty relaxing week. It got colder, and that was a good excuse to hibernate. Plus, I was just tired. Either Lee or myself had something to do most nights, but those were the only times I left the house.

Monday night I cut a bunch of vinyl for a church craft night on Tues. Tues night I went to the craft night and made these.

The colors are better in better light.
Someone else came up with the neat idea, I just cut the vinyl.
No creativity from me this time around- it was all her. :)

Lee officially got a calling (a non-paid "job") at church last week. He's the membership clerk, so on Weds night, he went for some training.

Will loves to do anything Amy is doing.
Including brushing his teeth.

Thurs night I had a visiting teaching appointment scheduled (ladies I visit with each month), and I decided to stop by all 4 in one night. Whew- I was really exhausted that night!

Four Month me.
Yes, I'm aware that by the end of this I'm going to be a house!!
So the week was pretty low-key... I should have known something was brewing! Friday night, Will woke up around 9:30 and Lee put him in bed with us. (yes, we were in bed by 9:30, and I was sound asleep) Around 10:30, Lee jumped out of bed as little Will was having another seizure. He had a slight (99.6) fever and we gave him a little ibuprofen that we had. Then he had another at 4am. His fever was 100.3 this time. So Lee went to 24 hour Walgreens to get some tylenol and ibuprofen. Will was already stripped of all clothing, but that wasn't helping and we just needed to get his fever down. While he was gone, Will had yet another. Yes, another. This time it lasted over 3 minutes, so I had to give him some medicine we had on hand (I was very grateful at that point that we had it!) That stopped the seizure, although by this point I was freaking out. I was all by myself, I wasn't sure what to do, oh it was awful. (and ironic that earlier that day I had talked to Grandma and Aunt Lynn and said that Will was completely fine!)

THREE seizures in one night!! So, needless to say, we didn't sleep at all. Poor Will. We debated about taking him into the ER, but we knew that by the time we got there, he'd be ok and the doctor had told us what to do if it happened again. So we didn't go. And once we starting rotating tylenol and ibuprofen, his fever went down and he's been ok all day. Thankfully, his EEG is this Thursday and since there was a fever, each time, we knew they were fibral. His little body must be so sensitive to even small temperature changes. Anyways, that was our night, how was yours??

Amy had a birthday party this morning, and although I had been up all night, it was good to get showered and out of the house. She had fun and I'm sure she needed it too. When I got back, Lee let me take a long nap and that was nice (I had let Lee sleep in late this morning. This kids still got up early. They didn't get the "mom and dad didn't sleep last night" memo). Now we all can't wait for bedtime!

So that's our update. I hope someone, somewhere has managed to do something fun!

  1. So glad you knew what to do, but I know that can't make it any easier. Also glad the test is this week. Glad you had a quieter week, winter setting in is always nice. I love the change of the seasons, although I could live with the temp being 60-75 all year long. You sure just one in the oven? Could be a really long last 5 months. Hope the next couple days are smoother. Love always.

  2. Oh, poor Will and poor you and Lee! I hope he will be okay and get the long-term help he needs. There are 2 families in our ward with little ones who've had seizures. I know it's gotten better over time for both of the families....good luck to you!

  5. So sorry about Will. I will be so glad after you get him in for the testing. It not only exhausts you and Lee but must have a big affect on Will too. As Lynn said are you sure you have only one!!! I think the more kids you have the bigger you get as I was huge with Mike. Glad you had the meds you needed to get him out of the seizure. What a night that must have been. Love and prayers to all of you, Gram.
