The Past 2 Days

......have been filled with more and more unpacking! I have to say- I'm officially over it. I'm ready to be settled and really don't care if I ever see a moving box again for a long, long time. Unfortunately, our house still has plenty, so I guess I'll still be seeing some for awhile.

Basically, we are exhausted. Who knew moving was so tiring?? I'm pretty sure I don't remember being this tired the other times. Will is teething, and therefore won't sleep. So maybe that has something to do with it. That and I'm pretty sure I was starting to get pretty lazy before we left (another good reason to move) so my body isn't used to working hard.

Lee spent a few hours (well, maybe not hours) putting this bookcase together. Usually I'm the 'handy' one, it was nice that he took over.

Will was definitely Lee's little helper.
He was always by his side!
Lee's way of opening anything is total demolition.
The finished bookcase and Lee acting tired.
Amy wanted to make a 'beautiful white dress' out of the styrofoam strips the bookcase pieces were around. This is what I came up with.... (she was disappointed that I wouldn't let her wear it to church next week)

Will has been taking more and more steps everyday. Today we counted 8, and that's the record. Yay, Will! Actually, he'd probably take more- but we all stare at him, clap, yell and count with every step, so it probably throws him off balance. Amy likes helping him walk around the room.

Today was our first Tennessee rainstorm. Amy and I ate our lunch on the back porch, watching the rain pour down. She was itching to go in (whose daughter is she?? wink, wink) So when the thunder subsided, we let her go in.

We pulled the pool onto the deck to mow the lawn. It served as a great rain collector and a great 'play in the rain' enticer!

Who doesn't love this???!!!!

After that, my camera battery died. But Will did play in the water for a little while as well. Wish I had pictures of that!

Now to just find the battery charger.... I have seen it since we've been here. But I put it in a "safe" place and now have no idea where that is. I wish I would stop doing that. I've misplaced SO many things!

So until I find the battery charger......................

  1. I hate those "safe" places. There are so many in our house who knows what we will find in years to come. Watch out, boxes breed during the night and you'll have more in the morning than you really thought were left. Glad the kids enjoyed the rain, send some our way huh. Keep up the good work. Love always.

  2. Lee's shelves are really nice. I bet he was sooo glad Will halped him put them together!!! I'm sure the kids enjoyed the rain and the pool. What kid of yours wouldn't?
I have been watering the yard all day and haven't made a dent in it yet. My frog is croaking now so he must be enjoying the extra water in the pond. It is a lot cooler here today so I didn't even need the air on all day. Glad to see you are making headway with the boxes. It is always such a great relief when you don't have any left. Remember I have moved 14 times! Glad you have such a nice house to move into. Best of luck to all of you and enjoy your stay. Much love to all, Gram

  3. Still jealous of your porch. Nothing better then sitting out and watching the rain. Assuming you can stay dry of course. Not exactly our last experience with the rain. Love the book shelf. It's perfect. Who knew that Target would have such a nice piece. Glad you found one you liked.
