Monday morning I made cinnamon rolls. Amy and I sort of devoured them.... we did manage to save 1 or 2 for Lee. Oops! They were just so good!!
Later that afternoon, our semi-adopted grandfather, Jimmy Tolbert, gave Amy this tea set. His wife came by to drop something off for me and he came out of the truck asking for Amy. Then handed her this. She was thrilled, of course! He's so nice to her! On Sundays he usually gives her a piece of candy. Well, this past week, he handed her a dollar bill! Amy said, "Mom, he's so silly! He gave me money!" I guess she doesn't quite get the "money" concept yet.
Amy has played with it lots and lots! And it's been nice to have a new toy to focus on. Monday night was rough as the kids were up and down all night. So I was exhausted. Savannah didn't come that day so I decided to just make it a relaxing day. I pulled out the air mattress and rented Tangled for Amy to watch. We saw it in the theater and was just as good watching it again. I also rented Morning Glory for Lee and I. There were a few language moments, but it was a really cute movie. Even Lee liked it.
Wednesday, Savannah's older sister, Clarissa, was here all day too. I can tell you right now, I do not have the patience for 4 children. My hat goes off to all of you readers who successfully do it. I think we are stopping at two.
The 3 girls did manage to dress Will up as a bunny. He was cute crawling around with his ears and tail!
Today I wanted to try some Vegan Strawberry cupcakes. It's the same recipe my sister raved about on her blog. Umm.... yeah! She knew what she was talking about!! These are awesome!! Who knew cupcakes could be so good and moist without butter or eggs??!!! And there's only 1 cup of sugar in the whole recipe. 1 cup spread out around 18 cupcakes.... that's pretty good!
I got him cleaned up from that. Amy and I gather all the markers and put them away. I went back to baking and saw that he had found a red one.....
Red is much harder to clean off than blue. But at least Crayola markers are non-toxic!!
In other good news. I'm caught up on my blog books. It's taken awhile to order them because I had to go through each post and edit it. Videos and slideshows don't carry over, so I had to delete them. Well, you know all the posting I do, so it took awhile! As you've probably noticed... now when there's a video, it's a separate post titled "Video of...." That's so I can easily delete them when I order the next book. I'm excited to have these books though. I love being able to preserve this blog and our life over the years! For me, this is WAY better (and easier) than scrapbooking!!
That's about it for now. We are having the missionaries for dinner and don't have many plans for the rest of the weekend. It's general conference so we'll watch it from home Saturday and then go (for the last time, sniff) to the Meyer's house to watch it on Sunday.
At least the blue marker matched Wills eyes! The red was nice too but I'm more fond of the blue one. He must have thought he was eating some kind of candy or something--What kids won't get into! Love to all, Gram.
ReplyDeleteI forgot to mention how nice all the blog books you are collecting will be a few years from now. Keep up the good work. Love Gram
ReplyDeleteYeah Crayola! I'm ready to share those cinnamon rolls. Keep up the dancing, it makes you happy and if mama's happy everyones happy!
ReplyDeleteI am in LOVE with the cinnamon rolls. Could you add some walnuts or pecans for an extra special taste. I expect you'll make those for us someday. What really makes kids want to eat crayons, markers, dirt, bugs ...? Amy will turn out to be a real dancer. Love always.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, 2008 must have been a bumper crop for blogging. That's a pretty thick year. I can't wait to see them. Love always.
