Super Bowl Sunday

First of all- Grandma- per your request I weighed Will again and he's still at 20 lbs. So he hasn't changed much. :)

This was the other dress that Karen (Lee's Mom) sent Amy for her birthday. She loved wearing it and definitely loved all the compliments we gave her all day long (although she did tell on herself and say she wasn't good in Primary). Wearing her scripture bag across her chest was her idea. I don't think she took it off at all during church- all her papers were shoved in there.

You know how sometimes a day just seems 'off'? Well, that was definitely today. And several people mentioned they felt the same way. Attendance was very low at church, none of the lessons (including my own) seemed to flow.... things were just kind of off today. Anyone else experience that??

I was seriously lacking in the 'meal planning' aspect as well. For lunch we had leftovers. And for dinner?? Well, green smoothies! It's all I had the ingredients for. I guess we can safely say that at least we got in our vegetables. (yes, even Will gets one)

I may not have had any ingredients for a meal, but of course I had enough for a cake! Check out the ugliest football cake in the history of football cakes.

I decided to try a 'from scratch' cake. I have a wonderful recipe that I use in the wedding cakes I used to make, but it makes a HUGE cake so I decided to try the recipe from the Hershey's cocoa box. Then it was kind of warm when I frosted it, so the 'from scratch' chocolate frosting and white part was melting everywhere. (sigh)

THEN if that wasn't bad enough everything I touched, I dropped. I dropped the container of brown sugar. Oh yes. I'm not joking. Wonder what a container of brown sugar all over your counter, top of stove, inside the eyes (of the stove) and all over the floor looks like? Well, just imagine it. I couldn't bear to take a picture. That took forever to clean. I dropped other stuff too (the frosting bowl, cups, plates) but the brown sugar was the worst of it.

The cake was decent though. We enjoyed it during half-time. (Lee was the only one really watching the game) I'm not a fan of the taste of hershey's cocoa- so it wasn't my favorite. But it was a fun treat. Amy liked it though and gave it a thumbs up. So that was our Super Bowl Sunday. I just looked at the clock and was shocked that it said 9pm! WHERE did the day go??!!!??

Time flies when your having fun???? We had a quiet day. Thankfully neither of us are football fans so we went with Gram who had been craving and I mean CRAVING Arby's and had dinner. Love always.

The Arby's were good too!!!!! I love Amys new dress and the color is fantastic on her. Grammy Karen sure knows how to pick em. The cake didn't look very good but I guess it tasted good as Amy gave it a thumbs up! We all have days like that once in a while. I didn't watch the football game either as I fell asleep when it started and then forgot it was on. Oh well I'm not a big fan anyway. Gramp always liked to watch the games but not me. At least you kept busy while it was on. I can't say I would give you a thumbs up for your dinner though. Lots of love to all, Gram

Brown sugar, ugh! Only thing worse would have been raw eggs. It was a good football game, I was rooting for the Packers so I was happy with the outcome. Ah, again I see evidence of your impatients. Just couldn't wait for the cake to cool mmmm. What am I going to do with you? I keep telling you that if you are more patient you will be much happier with the end results of all your projects. Now you need to listen to your mother! You know how much I ALWAYS listened to MY mother! Haha.
