Fun, What Fun (in a lot of words)

Yesterday I was somewhat AWOL all day. Lee stays home on Tuesday's so I have can have a 'day off.' (isn't he a swell guy?) That's usually the day I do grocery shopping and any other errands.

Well, yesterday, I started off by going to the gym at 6:30am. Then from there I went grocery shopping. Came home, showered and then went to a health class that I attend each week. From there got a much needed haircut (just a trim). Came home, ate lunch, watched a Netflix movie with Lee (he fell asleep), watched Oprah and then Amy and I went out. After that, we came home, got the kids in bed and I went back out- to my friend's house to watch a movie and make hairbows. Then, while I was there, Amy apparently woke up, went psycho (Lee's words) and  I came home to a daughter who wanted her mommy and didn't want to fall asleep. Whew! WHAT a day!!

When Amy and I went out- we went on a little shopping spree. Grandma (her great-grandma) gave us some money for our birthday's and we haven't had a chance to go out and spend it. Grandma always likes it when we "buy something fun." So Amy did!

She got: a My little Pony baby, a My Little Pony unicorn, a Rapunzel doll, a Barbie Mermaid movie (not shown) and 2 pairs of shoes (those weren't from her birthday money, but she needed them). It was SO much fun watching her shop and pick out whatever she liked. Of course she doesn't understand dollar amounts yet, but I would say, "you can choose this or that." She saw a dinosaur thing she liked and I said, "Ok, then you have to put one of these things back." And she went, "Oh. Nah!" It was cute. Anyhow- it was fun watching her on a mini shopping spree! With my money, I got 2 light sweaters but I think I'm going use the rest to buy a few things for my Silhouette. I still haven't completely decided.

But I was not very smart in my choice to take her shopping so late in the day. She fell asleep in the way home (at 6pm) and then wouldn't go to bed because she just keep playing and playing with her toys. We had to threaten to take them away. Which did make her get in bed, and she still slept with all of them. Next time I'll take her out on a Saturday morning!

I forgot to post this a few weeks ago. isn't this the cutest clock? Mom and Dad sent it to me for my birthday. It's really small and just the cutest thing. I still can't decide where to put it.

Oh- and one more story......

Amy has been cracking us up with the things she says. The other day, at the breakfast table, she said, "Mom, did you know that termites eat wood with their mouths, then spit it back out and fix the wall?" Lee and  I, of course were slightly flabbergasted, and said "Where did you learn that?" She said, "on the Cat in the Hat." (the pbs tv show)

Well, she got a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse movie from the library last week. Which is a real winner because she would watch it 20 times a day, if we let her. She LOVES it and already has it memorized. Apparently, in one part of it, Minnie tells Donald, "Not to get discouraged" so Amy likes to say that.

Yesterday, while watching Oprah (she did a show about Veganism and a look inside a meat packing plant- which I really wanted to see. I have been waiting and waiting since last week to see this show). Anyway- during the show, abc interrupted it with a Special Report to tell us the President of Egypt was not going to seek re-election. This really ticked me off because come on- I'm glad he isn't seeking reelection- but the elections aren't until September! You had to interrupt Oprah for 20 minutes on that? Ugh, I was irritated. So what do you do when you are irritated? Yell at the tv of course. But when I did, Amy walked over to me and said, "Mom. Minnie says, 'Don't get discouraged.' " It was SO funny, and of course everyone started laughing. And eventually the show came back on. But little Amy cracks us up!

And really awesome news....... today Anna, Stratton and Adeline will be here!!!!! Anna called me the other day and said they were looking at the map and decided it was only a 2 hour detour to come and see us so they decided to do it! I was completely shocked because I never thought of stopping here on the way to NC. (For those that don't know, they are moving from Provo to Charlotte). So we are SOOOOO excited for their visit! So tomorrow I will definitely have more pictures!

I loved hearing Will's grunt of displeasure as he crawls towards the hallway and sees all the doors closed. Soon he will be banging on the doors. I can't wait for you to compare Adaline with Will. It will be so funny to note their sizes. I think you will have to wait on Anna though, the weather is not cooperating. Thanks for all the fun updates.

I hope Anna, Stratton and Adeline don't get held up too long with the weather. We were supposed to get at least a foot of snow last night and fortunately the storm had lost a lot of its strenght by the time it got here and we only had a few inches plus some ice but nothing too bad. I love Amy using the new words so well. She sure has a fast mind. You should have one of those word a day games for her. I'll try to find one at the book store one of these days. Hope the Allens were able to get to your place as that would be a lot of fun for all of you. Keep all the nice videos and pictures coming as I sure do love seeing them and watching the kids grow up so fast. Love to you all, Gram It sounds like you and Amy had a lot of fun shopping. Amy really looked pleased with what she chose. Glad Lee let you out! I remember that was always fun to do after being with the kids so much of the time. Grampa used to give me time off to and it was always a good thing. Love you more,, Gram.

Shopping and water, who's daughter do you think she is? I guess I have to give up claim on you. Enjoy your time with Anna and gang. I know what a bonus that must be for you. Love always.
