Life This Week....

........can be summed up with one word- CLUTTER.

Oh me, oh my!

As many of you know, Lee was supposed to interview at MTSU (in TN) on Weds/Thurs. But they had a snow storm come in and closed the university and everything. (stop laughing all NY family- that's how we do things in the south.) So, seeing this forecasted, the department chair postponed the interview. The new dates are the 24/25th. So thanks for all of the thoughts and prayers- hopefully those well wishes will still loom in the atmosphere in 2 weeks.

With plans on Lee being gone- I decided to pull out the sewing machine and start on a bunch of baby gifts. I figured I could make a mess, stay up late, etc with him not here and get everything done. Everything was already pulled out, and messes forming, when the interview was postponed. So I went ahead with my plans and WOW- this house is a WRECK. I finally finished everything last night. In my mind I still think I can whip stuff out in a day- I keep forgetting that I have kids and everything takes 3 x's longer. Unfortunately, I cannot show you these gifts yet, so I don't ruin the surprise for the recipients, but I assure you- I have been quite busy. I will post the pictures as soon as they are mailed out/received.

So now it's back to making sense of this house. I mean, it's really, really bad. So bad that I don't know where to start..... the piles of laundry- why is it neverending???, the cluttery desk- I can't find a pen to save my life, the toy filled living room- so we can sit and watch a movie later, the loads of dishes- so I can cook a meal tonight, sigh... yet here I sit typing this blog. Priorities, priorities! hahaha

However, I am thankful for our angel this morning. I am convinced that we have a "corner angel" who's sole duty is to stand at our computer desk and guard Amy's head from contact. If you saw the way Amy always runs past the desk, you be shocked that she hasn't bonked it yet. I've even moved the desk, but she still always misses it by a millimeter. Well, since Amy was watching a movie at the time, I assume that angel stepped in the kitchen to help Will from cutting up his hand.

I heard this "tink, tink" sound and wondered what in the world it could be. I went to investigate and low and behold Will was playing with this piece of glass!!!!!????!!!

I have no idea where he found it, where it was, or when a glass even broke, but he found it and was happily "tink, tink-ing" around. Thank you angel for protecting his sweet little hands! Not a cut to be found. But that glass quickly found it's way to the trash.

Because I have nothing else to do (she says sarcastically) I am imposing a 30 day challenge on myself.... to use everything in the cabinets/fridge/freezer. I hate grocery shopping and find myself getting more and more annoyed when I have to make another trip. There are always those random things in the cupboard that you can't make a meal out of- well- its my goal to use those things. So for the next 30 days- I will use all that random stuff and only shop for things that I need to make a meal from the random stuff.

Luckily I went to the store today- so for the next week we'll be able to eat the "good" food.... but after that it could get interesting.....!

Well, that's that. I guess I should go do.............. something..................

Good luck Sarah with your decluttering! I know what it is like. I did it all November and December. It was amazing to eat up every last speck of food in the house and see and empty fridge and freezer. That was amazing. My wallet liked that month also. I didn't buy very many groceries!

Seems like something has to suffer for the greater good. Clutter can be managed another day. If everyone is healthy and happy and you were able to accomplish some fun good stuff that's what matters. Can't wait to see the unveiling of projects as it goes along. Thank that angel an extra time. Love always.

There used to be a dozen angels watching over your brother Adam. Now that he is older they are only needed occasionally (like after a snow storm) for him so they have been re-assigned to the Wade household. So nice how that works eh? Can't wait to hear how you manage to use up your cupboard stuff. If it works for you maybe I will try it. I think I need it more then you!
