I feel like we haven't done much lately, but when I look back at these pictures,
I guess we have done a few things....
Lee had a proud moment.... when Will sat down with him to watch Star Trek.
I think he's going to have this framed....
But then Will attacked him... maybe he was pretending to be a character that he saw?
Amy tried out some new paints and painted the word "Tarzan."
I didn't help her, this was all on her own. I thought it was a pretty good phonetical spelling.
(Oh- and she was pretending to be a snow leopard, thus the hat and gloves.
Yes- we are have record breaking heat waves and Amy breaks out snow gear.
I'm so glad the winter coats are hidden!)
Laundry baskets are so much fun! Especially when being pulled by mommy and daddy.
I just pushed it, but Lee was the genius who thought to attach a belt to easier pull it.
The box was their garage type thing and then they got stuck.
So the box, basket and the kids were being pulled around the house.
It was funny and they had a blast.
I guess there are times that its nice not to have a lot of furniture!
Amy made Will into a robot.
Then she pushed the box around, with him in it. Again, it was pretty funny.
They both were dying laughing.
I've been trying to work with Amy and some school work each morning. Yesterday we did some experiments- something she LOVES! This one was mixing colors...
It got so mixed that she said, "Look Mom! It looks like a smoothie!"
I guess she's become accustomed to green smoothies!
Then we made jello jigglers. I made her stir it for the full 3 minutes.
Afterwards she said she needed a nap because she "had to do so much stirring and it made her tired." Hmmm... I'm gonna have to work the drama out of this one!
Both kids enjoyed the results. While it was cooling in the fridge, we went to the grocery store.
The entire time Amy kept saying,
"Mom, my tummy is talking. It keeps telling me that it needs some jello."
I tried out a new recipe the other day for Cinnamon Bread. I read about it in a book and went online to search for a recipe. I found on on the Pioneer Woman's website. I've never been a reader of her site, but I hear about it all the time in blogland. If all her recipes are this good- I'm going to have to try them. This was SO good. I had intentions of using it in french toast, but um... the loaf didn't make it that far.
Yeah... it got eaten pretty quickly!
Next time I'm going to try some apples in it- apple bread here I come!
And me? Well, I've been working on our picture wall. I first traced templates of all the frames with newspaper and taped them to the wall, arranging them how I saw fit (to avoid putting lots of holes in the wall). Then I finally hung everything up last night. (The gold "W" will probably be spray painted, since i'm not much of a gold kind of gal. But I'm waiting to see what colors I end up with in here. And that all depends on which curtains I choose....) The purple tape marks are where the piano is going to go. Mom and Dad are giving us theirs, since it won't fit in their new house. I can't wait to get Amy piano lessons! I've already been scoping out some teachers.
That's about it around here. Today it tidy up day.
I don't know how it gets so crazy, but as you can see from the picture, it does!
That sure is a cute picture of Lee and Will sitting together watching TV I can see why Lee loves it. All the pictures of you having fun and all the things you are doing are fun to see. I think it is a great idea to make a template of sorts to see how you would like to hang pictures. I'll have to try it as I am never pleased with how I hang things. Good idea. I don't know why but it always seems a box is the best toy. No storage problems either. Keep up all the fun ideas. Much love to all, Gram
ReplyDeleteps I can't believe I'm the first one this time....Lucky Me. Love
The piano crime scene cracks me up!
ReplyDeleteA box is in the national museum of toys hall of fame. We can see why. So many good times keep the good times rolling. Love always.
