Our New Home

So we are house hunting in TN.... and last night was a total disaster. Everything that we saw was just plain scary and we are trying to move out of 'scary.' Maybe the insides were ok, but we just didn't like any of the neighborhoods that we saw. Except one. There was a house listed in a really nice neighborhood and we scheduled an appointment to see it this morning. The only problem was that it wasn't available until Aug 1. And we need something for July 1.

I was really depressed last night. Basically losing all hope. There is a ton of housing here, but no one wants to leave! haha. This morning we were heading to the appointment and since we were early we decided to drive around the neighborhood and see if anything else was for rent. There were a few for sale, but none for rent. We drove by one and I told Lee that it looked empty and I could call the real estate agent and ask if the owner would be willing to rent it. Lee said, "Yeah call him!" So I did.

I said, "Do you think the owner would be willing to rent it?" He said, "I'm the owner, its my house, sure I'll rent it." The price was just under budget too! Yippee!! The only thing is its a 3 bedroom and we really wanted a 4, but that's ok. He happened to be driving right by it so we could see it immediately. We looked around, loved it and said we'd probably call him back later. As we were buckling the kids in the car Lee said, "And why are we leaving without giving him a check?" I was like, "You really want it??" He did, I did, Amy was already crying because we weren't living there right now, so it was settled. We got him back out of his car and  that was that!

Welcome to 3034 Regency Park Dr, Murfreesboro.

Like I mentioned, it is a 3 bedroom, and we really wanted a 4... but it had everything else we wanted and a little more, so we decided we couldn't be too picky. When we get visitors we'll just move Will into Amy's room. I'm sure they'll be sleeping together anyway. So don't let that deter you from visiting!! There is lots of room!

I think pictures of inside of a house are sometimes misleading but here they are anyway.....

The living room is this really huge great room (which I love). The one wall is this brick wall. It actually looks kinda of neat when you see the thing as a whole. In this picture it kind of looks like a cabin.

The kitchen. I was standing in the eating area portion of it. The refrigerator is to come. (he's bring it over). The countertops are granite.

The deck is off the kitchen. It's a really nice size!

And it goes into the huge, fenced in, back yard.

The grass is really nice and thick, it's completely flat and partially shaded. What more could you ask for?? The guy actually lives behind us, to the side, You can see his shed peeking up over the fence. This house was actually his parents and they both died last year. (within a month of each other! How sad!) He said he hasn't really wanted to sell it and has been kind of indecisive of what to do with it. He said renting it to us must have been meant to be! (we agree)

Since he has been indecisive, some things are still in the place. So in the next pictures all the 'things' will be cleaned out before we move in, of course.

Bedroom #1- will be Amy's room

Bedroom # 2- Will be Will's/ the guest room (this is the larger of the two rooms)

The hall bath. It's handicap accessible so there is no tub, just handicap/non handicap type shower heads. I didn't get a picture of that.

The Master bedroom. This room is HUGE! I'm about halfway in the room, taking the picture. There's another window to the side of me.

The master closet. Can I just say that I'm THRILLED that it's a huge walk-in closet!

There is also a linen closet (I'm also thrilled about), a large coat closet near the front door and the kids rooms all have large closets as well. There's an attic (Yay storage!!!) and a 2 car garage, with more attic storage. The driveway is really long and perfect for bike riding! Although the neighborhood is a low traffic neighborhood too. We saw tons of people walking around. Lee said, "I'm going to love running around here." The local schools are just 2 streets over, so if we stay, when Amy starts school, I can just walk her over. How cool is that???!! (I've always wanted to walk to school). It's also located really close to the Greenway trail (the trail that goes by the river, kind of like the Silver Comet in GA) and all the 'nice' shops.

So that's basically it. We are really happy and thrilled that we found such a nice place. It really is an answer to lots and lots of prayers so we are praising the Lord that we found it. The pictures just don't do it justice, so you'll have to come visit to see it for yourself!

(Here is a link to the property on the agents website. There are a few more pictures and some other details. http://redsavesgreen.idxco.com/idx/7343/details.php?idxID=181&listingID=1232989  )
