A Few More Pics of Murfreesboro

Before dinner last night, we decided to walk a little along the Greenway. The Greenway is a paved area that goes alongside the Stones River. You can bike, walk, run, etc around it. It's gorgeous! We just went a little way but we can't wait to spend more time there.

This is just a part of the field at one entrance of the Greenway.
How fun!! and pretty!!

Amy wanted to touch the water. This is a spot where you can put canoes and paddleboats in. How fun would that be??!!

Another place during our walk. It's so pretty!!

The riverbed is full of fresh water clam shells. Amy was in heaven. haha.

We 'celebrated' and ate dinner out. We went to a place called Old Chicago, and it featured lots of pasta and pizza. How could you go wrong?? It was really, really good and we think we've already found our favorite local restaurant.

There were a few questions on the last post that I didn't answer....

Yes the master bedroom has it's own bathroom as well as the large closet. It has a double sink and a huge mirror as well as a tub bath and of course the toilet. ;)

There isn't a basement. Actually, we didn't see anything with a basement. Murfreesboro is quite flat, compared to other parts of TN. Nashville lies in a valley- which is why it flooded last year. But Murfreesboro is a little higher in elevation, so it wasn't effected by the floods. So that's good. It's not as flat as Mississippi, there are hills and such, but none that are big enough to build a basement in. If that makes sense. Our closets are huge so one of those will serve as the tornado shelter. Somehow we lucked out again and don't have any stairs. (except for the few on the front and back porch)

There is a 2 car garage. Our driveway is to the right of the house picture. It's actually really long and the garage opens on the side of the house, behind the master bedroom. It's nice that the driveway is so long!

The neighborhood actually reminds me of Grandma's. The streets are really wide, it's an older neighborhood which we love, it translates to "quiet." (No more "As the Beer Can Turns!!!" YAY!) It's all pretty and landscaped (something MS has never heard of). I love it!!!

Ok, Lee wants to start the drive back to the 'hot box'. (That's what he calls our MS house b/c its never cools down) so I must get ready. Moving day is only a week and a half away! YAY!!!!

  1. Congrats! It looks like a great place to live! We use an interior hall closet for our tornado "safe place". That's where I keep my helmet, too :)

  2. HELMETS!!!! I like that idea. Not that you would have to use it but great idea none the less. Questions answered makes it sound even more wonderful. I know you are going to love it. Hope you have a safe trip back to MS. Notice I didn't say home. Now it's TN. Love always.

  3. I can see the glee on Amy's face as she stands by the water. It looks like a really great place for lots of outings. Glad everything is so pretty. I'm sure you'll all have a great many fine walks along the water and the greenway. We will be glad to stop and see you on our way down to see your Mom and Dad as it will be a nice place to take a break. Lots of luck and drive safe. Much love, Gram

  4. A week and a half can't go fast enough. Can't wait to help you move in to your new place. You will think you are in heaven after Mississippi. The nice thing about where you live now is that anything else by comparison will be the Taj Mahal.
