Isolation Week Five

April 12, day 27:
Happy Easter!! The kids woke up to candy... and that may be all they ate that day. Me preparing meals is sketchy at best, and definitely so on a holiday!

Of course they had an easter egg hunt. I think there were 120 eggs or something. Did you know that as of right now my kids have never died easter eggs? Its true! We always have used the plastic ones. And right now, during quarantine and eggs are in short supply, it seems like a silly thing to do. When I look back at all the things I've done with them, I laugh that we haven't dyed eggs. Let's see how many years I can keep it going. :)

The Easter bunny likes to give the kids coupons for things like sleeping with mom and dad, picking a restaurant, etc.

We watched the entire Season 1 of The Chosen all day. It's about Christ's life so it seemed appropriate. At some point we all took a little nap.

The bunny made his yearly tracks. (Actually, it turns out the bunny at ALL the Nagel kids left tracks. I love that everyone has the same tradition!) Ours got washed away in a really bad storm.

April 13, day 28:
Sidewalk drawings from Amy.

And she discovered how to get onto the shed and read a book. I would have let her stay there, but that roof is a little iffy and rotted in a few areas, so we made her get off. Bummer too. It was a cool place to read.

April 14, day 29:
Amy wanted to try making donuts. She did a great job. They were good.

During all this time I have been hanging drywall little by little. So if the kids seem neglected, they probably were. Hey, they are old enough to feed themselves. :)

April 15, day 30:
I cannot believe it's been THIRTY days. Geesh. All I did was laundry.

April 16, day 31:
Will went to work with Lee ( there isn't anyone else in the building.)

I worked on more drywall.

We knew when Will came home. :)

April 17, day 32:
I couldn't find Tyler that morning. And then I saw thing randomly shaped blanket. Silly boy

I went to Home Depot and Lowes to get a few things and socially distanced in all the lines.

I ended up buying a new grill thanks to some money my Godfather sent. Our old one had rusted out and I love cooking on a grill. We made turkey burgers for dinner and they were great.

April 18, day 33:
A truly satisfying day! Many good things happened today.
First off: I FINISHED HANGING THE DRYWALL!! And while these pictures are terribly lighted, I wanted to remember what it looked like in the early stages. (The ceiling will be white washed wood) It was a job, let me tell you. But it was fun. I loved doing it. Even if I neglected everyone all day, every day. It's DONE!!!

I laughed at my pile of jackets. These are each Hot Chocolate jackets and I have 6 of them. Each morning I would wear a different one each morning and then take it off and forget to bring it back down. And then repeat.

Lee and I ran to the dump and took a few things that were needing to be disposed of. We called this our "date."

Tyler's 8th birthday is tomorrow. Since it's on a Sunday, we got lunch from Nachos (of course) today. Thankfully the stay at home orders allow us to still get take out. He loved it.

And the other wonderful thing for today... I found monarch eggs on my milkweed!!!! I was SOOO excited! We are going to have babies soon.
