It Finally Feels a Little Like Christmas

With Thanksgiving being so late this year, and then Mom and Dad coming for another work trip, December cae with everyone feeling rushed and behind. We finally had time to get our tree. I tell people that we take our kids to the pumpkin patch at Aldi and then the tree farm at Lowes.

We found the trees slightly lacking this year. They were small and full of holes. It took awhile, but Tyler finally found this years.

It was so small that Lee tried putting in the trunk. It didn't fit there, but it was a good try!

I built a box to stand it on top of so we could go smaller and not have it look ridiculous. It seemed to do the trick. I couldn't find all the lights at first and decided to just go with it this year.

A few days later we did Cupcake Wars. Lee and Will versus Amy and Tyler. I was supposed to be the judge. During the 'competition' Lee and Tyler quit for various reasons. So that left Amy and Will.

Lee and Will's cupcakes turned out a little under cooked. After Lee bailed I put them back into the oven and they turned out fine.

Will decorated one for each member of the family. Lee's had a police theme, Amy's an archery theme, Tyler's was Pokemon (I think) and he said the temple one was mine. It was really sweet of him.

Once the tree was fully decorated, the elves finally showed up bringing their traditional Christmas pajamas. This years were all Harry Potter themed. The kids also have the Harry Potter lego advent calendar.
