Everything Leading Up to Christmas

Oh man, this season has been crazy. I blame it on the late Thanksgiving but I feel like everything has been a rush. I was asked to help with the church decorations for a Polar Express party. I searched pinterest for the easiest way possible and it turned out cute. Amy painted the train faces, which was a HUGE help!

Amy had her last regular season archery tournament. After that tournament, the coaches tally all the scores and pick the top 24 (out of 52) to be on the competition team. She really wanted to make it and the other day we found out she did! She was really excited!

I can't remember why they fell asleep. It's not unusual for Tyler, but it is for Will.

Another one of Tyler's weird sleeping positions.

Amy's Sunday School class took a trip to a Climbing place in town. She had never done it before but she LOVED it. She climbed up and over everything and had the time of her life.

Lee scored us free tickets to the Nutcracker in downtown Nashville. Before we left we took the kids out for a "nicer" dinner. It was mildly successful. When Amy asked "Why do we have to bring the boys places?" We replied with "Because they need to learn how to act in public."

We were early for the show so we walked near the State Capital and admired the tree and downtown buildings.

We laughed at someone's coffee cup that was literally sitting on top of the "please don't leave drinks on the ledge" sign.

Everyone liked the show. Afterwards Will said, "Well, there wasn't that much action." Then he said, "I still don't understand why there wasn't any talking, but it was pretty good."

I had to get a photo of the kids fighting over who got to vacuum. I bought a little battery charged type one for the kitchen/hardwood floors and I guess it's fun to use. I hope there are many more fights about chores!

Tyler posing with some gifts. He can't help but make funny faces.

He's been saving this candy thing for a week now. Aunt Lauren sent it and after he ate a few, he's been refilling it with any he can find. He said he's saving it so he can eat them all while opening his presents. He's so funny about it.

My friend sent this really cute gift. I wanted to remember it. It was from: Blitzens Bubble Gum Shop. She's seriously so creative.

Tyler lost another tooth. It was really wiggly and we had to enlist Amy again. She just loves pulling teeth! After she got it out he said, "Amy, you are a maniac!" It had us all laughing. He wants to put it under his pillow on Christmas Eve so the toothfairy and Santa come on the same night. Which is why he was holding out on letting Amy pull it for so long. But he was also complaining about it, so out it came. The toothfairy is seriously going broke at this house with all the teeth the boys keep losing.

We had our annual Hot Chocolate Tasting tonight. It's something we always look forward to. This year the Elvis Rockin' Hot Chocolate won first place and good ol Swiss Miss came in second.

And since it's Christmas Adam (Adam came before Eve) and the kids get to sleep under the tree, we thought it would be fun to let them open Uncle Bobby and Cici's gift (we knew what it was.)

New sleeping bags! They were SO excited. They were more excited than we thought they would be. The noise level was deafening!

So they are now snuggled under the tree and Santa is busy packing his sleigh. December is moving too quickly this year!
