Annual Fall Break Camping Trip

Over the weekend we took our annual camping trip with the Stutevilles, Elams and Olsens. This was our 4th year. We went back to Rock Island State Park, which is always pretty. This year was more low key and we spent most of our time sitting around and talking. The kids played "How many people can fit into a hammock" and "traffic cop" and had a blast.

The Olsens brought their dog and she and Amy were attached for the entire weekend. We were almost swayed to take her home but Lee and I managed to resist. We aren't sure we are ready for a dog yet. Amy was ready five years ago.

The Twin Falls. There has been a lot of rain this year. The falls are fed by a large spring in the rock but the river part is fed by a dam. They were letting water out of the dam and it was really flowing. Hence the rough, muddy water this year.

We went on a trail that we walked last year and it was flooded. We couldn't even get into one of them.

The air mattress we brought was leaking air- which is SO annoying. I laid down the first night (between the two boys) and I sank to the ground. I laid there for about 10 minutes, on the cold, hard rocks, and said forget it. I spent my first night sleeping in the van with the passenger seat reclined. The next day Lee went to the store and bought a new air mattress. He blew it up and we laughed about how tall it was!

Kabobs over the open fire was a success!

These boys are obsessed with Taco Soup. Actually, they really just love the Fritos.

It's still hot down south. One day someone turned on their hose and sprayed the kids fora while. They loved it.

Fun was had by all!
