Time Out for Women

I forgot to post Amy's haircut last week.... last Sunday she asked if I would cut her hair. She said she was the "only one in the family with short hair." There are also some other girls in her classes at school and church with short hair. Anyhow- I was all for it- her hair always bugs me because it's hard to keep "nice" looking.

So I got out the scissors and cut a bunch of it off.

Almost a pen length!

It looks so cute now! I just love her short hair. She does too, she walks around swinging it. She's so cute about it.

This weekend I was able to head to GA for a quick 24 hours and go to "Time Out for Women."  Time Out is a 2 day conference hosted by Deseret book (A church publishing company). It's just for women and they have several great speakers and musical guests. It's fabulous. I took 3 of my friends from here, we picked up Mom (and stayed at their house) and had a merry weekend.

Imagine my surprise when I ran into friends from our Petal Ward!!
(Sis. Atterbury, Sis. Floyd, Sheila Brandon, Melba Tisdale, Donna Hill)

The most fabulous group.
(Stacey Gilday, Talana Knox, Linda Reece)

Stacey was all into Jericho Road (an LDS musical group)

Short Linda joking that she couldn't see over the crowd.

On Mom's porch...

The 5 of us had a great weekend. Chats in the car, lots of laughter, a late night talking, a picnic lunch, and more and more laughter. It was so much fun to have my friends meet and spend time with my fabulous mom (I think they understand me a little more) and it was great for Mom to meet and get to know some of my great friends. It was a wonderful weekend! Thanks Mom for hosting us!

(oh- and Tyler did come too. He was a great baby! You hardly heard a peep out of him the entire time. Except in the car- he didn't seem to car for the drive to or from GA. Usually he's so good but he screamed his head off for a LOT of the drive both ways. We were all glad when he'd finally fall asleep)

  1. I meant to say how I liked her hair in the family fun day blog but forgot. I think it makes her look older though, and I thinks he is doing that too quickly already. Glad you had such a good time and looks like the weather cooperated as well. Sorry Tyler didn't like the ride though. Love always.

  3. Glad you had such a nice weekend with your Mom and friends. Looks like you were all enjoying yourselves. I know your Mom was looking forward to going too.
Thanks for all the nice pictures of Tyler and the other kids too. I can't believe how fast he seems to be growing up. I like Amy's hair cut she looks cute any way she wears it. Glad she wanted it cut as I'm sure it is a lot easier for you to keep it neat. Great Amy is reading to the boys and judging from the pictures they were enjoying it too!!
Glad all are well and enjoying all the fun things you do. Hi to Lee to and I know he keeps busy with school.
    Love to you all, Gram
