Our Christmas Decor

I had high hopes for the most decorated house ever! Yeah, that was until I got pregnant, my son started having seizures and we realized we couldn't get all of our Christmas decor from Karen's attic in time. So I have high hopes for next year!! hahaha.

This is all that was done this year. It's good enough. I like it. And since I hadn't seen a lot of my stuff in 4 years, it was fun to pull it all out. I have some stuff that I really like!

The tree(s):

I'm all for a real tree. And to be honest, I was really looking forward to it. I bought these 3 fake trees year ago at Hobby Lobby for less than $5 each. So when I brought them back from GA, and set them up, Lee said, "WHY do we have to have a real one too??" He had a point. Plus, the main point is that we are still getting on our feet financially. We've only had a 'paycheck' for four months, so there's no "Christmas budget" this year. So I decided he was right, and I'd rather save the money a tree would have cost and put it towards something else. Next year we'll have a budget and then will get a real tree. I actually like the look of the 3 trees though, I think it's different looking.

My entry way shelf..... The countdown on the shelf is actually messed up. I guess I bought it after Christmas years ago, because I just took it out of the package... but all the numbers don't work. There's no 0 or 3 and several others. So I just left it on 25 for the Christmas date. The countdown below is the one we made in craft group.

I added some vinyl to a mirror in the entry way......

Above the fireplace...... I never really like the canvas painting I did awhile ago. As much as I'd like to have an artistic/painting flair, I just don't. So I covered the existing pattern in green paint. Once dry I hung the book page wreath over it. I still have one more project to complete for the stockings... hopefully it'll get done before Christmas!!

The outside...... we used all the lights that we brought with us. We still have a ton more in GA. So our house isn't up to my brother Adam's capability yet, but this is a nice precursor to next years yard. :)

I bought this years ago after Christmas for like $7.
The kids LOVE watching it inflate every night.

Little area on the front porch.
Our beloved little Christmas tree that served
us so faithfully the past 3 years in Mississippi!
And the other night, Sam the Elf arrived!! He even brought a friend along, who Amy promptly named Zoey.

The kids talking to the Elves on the day they arrived. Will noticed them right away and Amy had fun introducing them to him. Every morning she wakes up and says, "I wonder where they are today!" I'll have to post the pictures of their locations.

So that's it for the Wade's holiday decor. Lee's mom, Karen, is coming for Christmas this year! We can't wait! It'll be lots of fun! But then again, Christmas is always fun with little ones around!

  1. I'm with you--Christmas is always fun with little ones around. Big ones too!!! I'm glad Karen is coming for Christmas as I know she will have a great time with you and the kids. Your decorations are great and I bet the kids are really excited. I love your little elves and they really keep the kids guessing--what fun. I never knew about them until a couple of years ago-I must have fallen off the turnip truck somewhere along the line. It is fun to see their excitement so keep me posted. Much love to you all. Gram
