I don't remember why I took this picture. I guess just because he's cute!
Oh wait- I think he stole a muffin from my hand and had already bitten into it before I knew it.
Silly Amy sleeping INSIDE her pillowcase. Luckily it's jersey material so it's nice and stretchy. And we all know how much she loves that purple pillow!!
I decided to make Amy a new cover for her bed. It'll be smaller than a bedspread, more like a coverlet (I guess is what you call it???) It's called a ticker tape quilt, if you want to see an example of one- click this link.... but you bind and piece the entire thing all at once (my pieces won't be as small as hers). And simplicity (especially since I'm not a quilter) works for me! Anyhow- these are the colors.... I was really mad at myself because I forgot to wash the fabric first... so I cut out all these squares and then remembered I hadn't washed it. So I threw everything in the washer... and then ironed all the little pieces! I was too cheap to go buy more fabric! I definitely learned my lesson on that one!
That's about it for the week. Tonight I went to an exercise class with my friend Leslie. We tried out the college's Zumba class. Zumba is basically latin dancing. Leslie has taken many classes, but it was my first time. It was a lot of fun! Then we came back here, ate tacos, laughed at the kids, put them to bed then sent Lee off to our room to play video games (he was so sad about that one!! YEAH right!) Then her and I watched the movie The Switch with Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman. We didn't have much hope for it, but we acually really enjoyed it. After it was done we both said, "You know, I don't think there was a single curse word in there!" Which is amazing this day and age! No nudity, no sex- just a cute movie. We were pleasantly surprised! Anyhow- it was fun having a "girls night" I haven't had one of those in a really long time!! I'm not going to miss much about Mississippi- but Leslie is one person I will REALLY miss!!
I love any picture you put on that is of either one of the kids. Like Lynn I think Will would look good no matter what! Hope your quilt turns out nice for you and Amy.. Much love, Gram
I never prewash my fabric.. I am so awful about that! I cannot wait to see pictures of the finished quilt!
ReplyDeleteWill would look cute with any hairstyle. I was about a 50/50 pre-wash person. That was how I lived dangerously. (your mom will like that one) Take care. Love always.
ReplyDeleteOh shame on you, I prewashed all the time like all excellent seamstresses do! What? you say? I was supposed to sew it all together afterwards? No wonder nothing ever turned out!
ReplyDeleteWith the crapy fabrics they have now I would ALWAYS prewash. I have in the past taken chances and have been sorry a few times but our fabrics were so much nicer IN THE OLDEN DAYS WHEN I WAS SEWING!!
