Recent Company and Fun Things

It's been a busy few weeks around here. Well, who am I kidding, it's always busy. But I love it when it's busy with company!

First up, Granny came for a visit. Uncle Bobby and Cindy dropped her off and took us to dinner. I'm still mad that I didn't get any pictures with them.

We took Granny to Franklin on Saturday and enjoyed walking around and doing a bunch of window shopping.

She stayed until Monday and we enjoyed every minute with her.

On Tuesday my parents came to help us with the upstairs.  Well, who are we kidding? Dad did all the work. He's the only one who can make sense of an electrical box! (The only thing I know is to put one hand in your pocket!)

Lee helped with a few things and mom and I were the gophers going from store to store looking for something called a Square D arc breaker. We knew we found the right place when the worker went right over and picked them out.

Will's class had a field trip to an MTSU basketball game, which sounds fun but is actually really stressful when you think of 100's of kids squeezed into a gym, watching a game they are too young to care about and eating lunch on their laps. So we opted to keep him home. He had gotten a coupon for a free kids meal and was quite excited to use it (he LOVES to eat out.)

Amy thought writing her math homework in the shower was a smart idea.....until she realized the expo marker wouldn't work once it got wet.

Talana and I got to enjoy a long bike ride while the weather was still nice.

I harvested peanuts! (Kinda excited about this one!) And followed Charles Dowding's advise and added sides to my compost bins.

I was called as the Young Women's president at church. One of our first activities was having the girls create skits out of random props (this was their idea!) They were all pretty funny.

We had our first snowfall last night. Just a dusting but it rained all night before the temperature dropped so that made for icy stairwells.

I didn't notice the ice and took a hard fall down our cement steps and landed right on my tailbone. Needless to say, it hurt. A lot. School was delayed a few hours, Tyler had been up with a stomach bug, Will was refusing to go to school (he'd had a hard day the day before) and I could barely move, so that meant everyone stayed home. With all that and a high temp of 26 degrees, we spent the day watching movies, huddled under blankets. Around noon I was able to get up which I was grateful for. Standing or laying down I'm fine but sitting is a challenge.  Hopefully all will be back to normal in a day or two. I've got things to do, I can't be laying on my back! (I started remodeling/building shelves in my closet the day before....I'd really like to get that project done!)

So that's about it for now! I'm always amazed at how quickly time flies!
