Anna's for New Years- and the Zoo

We got Christmas cleaned up the day after Christmas. We were glad we could haul the tree out to the burn pile instead of throwing it out onto the street for all to witness how quickly we are done with the holiday.

One day I was sitting peacefully and all of sudden all 3 children were on top of me.

There was Amy....

Then Tyler...

Then Will.....

and Lee sitting all by himself on the other side of the room....

Moms! There's something about kids needing to be on top of them all the time.

A few days after we got all packed up to head to Anna's for New Years. People ask us all the time if the bridge by our house ever floods, yep, it does. (There is a way around it.)

Once at Anna's we took a day trip to the Riverbanks Zoo in South Carolina. It's about an hour and a half drive but it went quickly. There was a boys car and a girls (plus Abe) car. The boys kept yelling "Boys car!" They were so cute.

People kept giving Stratton sympathetic looks. I can't imagine why!

Several of the kids got to feed giraffes.

The worker told the kids the birds weren't eating much that day. But of course the animal whisperer, Amy, coaxed them into coming to her and Adeline.

We think this was Tyler's first time on a carousel! I can't believe we haven't taken him on one before. Of course, there aren't any around here. He was nervous but excited.

Will hates to do things- like walking. (sigh....)

The whole crew (minus myself)... how many kids can get get on Stratton??
