Tyler likes to show us how many things he can climb. Currently it's this small tree in the backyard. It isn't really a big deal except that the tree isn't the healthiest and some of the limbs could easily break. Oh well, if they do, he won't fall very far. Eventually this tree will be cut down and we'll put a movie screen on the house in this area.
The boys school had a family math night at school. We went only because Will was obsessed with the fact that we could buy pizza there. Each kid played a game or two and then we got a large pizza and headed home to eat it. (Aren't we social??) When we signed in, there were estimation jars and if you guessed the right number you won the jar. The next day Tyler got in the car and was so excited because he'd won the M&M's! (Which also happen to be his favorite candy.)
Lee was clipping on Tyler's tie before church and something about it had Tyler laughing so hard. He couldn't stop laughing.
A favorite meal around here is kabobs. Everyone, especially the kids, just loves them. I can't keep the kids away!
My preferred method of serving everything post grilling is like this. As opposed to mom who likes to toss everything into a bowl. :)
I went on a hike a few weeks ago with my hiking group. Or part of them. We went to Machine Falls- a waterfall I've been to before. But it was still just as pretty.
While tubing a few weeks ago, the kids found all sorts of shells and a few fresh water clams. This wasn't open yet so Amy decided to take it home to see if there was a pearl inside. She was a little grossed out when she finally got it open. And then she felt really bad. I don't think she really knew/understood that it was actually a live animal inside that shell. :) No pearl though. :(
(And this is the point where I finally got a new phone. So cell phone shots should be a little better from now on!)
Last weekend the kids got invited to a fun party. It was a Ninja Warrior type place. They swung, climbed, ran... basically wore themselves OUT. And had a blast doing it. This was right up Amy and Tyler's alley. Will participated but not as much. He was more interested in the pizza they had for dinner :)
I've gotten to go to the temple 2 weeks in a row. I've never been able to do that! It's been great.
A random day after school. This boy was worn out!
I got some fun facemasks in a package so Amy and I had to try them out. They bubbled up after a few minutes. They were really cool.
I finally hit the farmers market last Saturday. (Only a month before it closes up for the winter! Nothing like waiting until the end!) These were really neat. The lady selling called them Fly Beans, but they are actually called Winged Beans. (She's Asian, so maybe it was lost in translation??) They taste good, almost like a raw green bean. She said you eat them raw or put them in a salad.
And last but not least- I made my first kitchen drawer slide! I'm pretty excited about it. I have about 10 more to make, but hey, if I did it once, I can do it again, right??
Alright, that's enough of a random update for now. Until next time!
