Weekend in GA

We just got back from a quick weekend trip to GA.

Before we left, I was giving Tyler "tummy time" and the kids wanted to do it too.

Yes, I do realize Tyler isn't on his "tummy" in this picture
Amy stayed the weekend with Jackson and Maddox. They had a lot of fun. On Saturday, they went to the lake and Amy declared it the "best day ever." She also had fun playing with Walker (their Great Dane).

While Amy was gone, me and the boys hung out with Meme and Papa. Will attaches to Dad like glue. On Saturday, Mom, Tyler and I took a trip to Ikea. Will stayed with Dad. Dad gave him a screwdriver and Will was as happy as can be. All night/weekend long Will would say, "I fix cars with Papa!" (though there wasn't any car fixing, they were just outside near all the cars. I'm assuming that Will was playing with the cars while Dad was piddling around his garage).

Mom bought a spiderman sprinkler for the kids. She was going to go with a different character but figured since she has 7 grandsons and only 3 granddaughters- the boy character won out. Will wasn't too sure of it at first, but he had no problem "shooting" it with his own web.

He also loved playing with Meme's fountain.

Adam/Lauren brought Amy back on Sunday night. Anna and Adeline had just come into town, so we all had a wonderful dinner together.

Adeline had the curliest hair! It's sooo cute!

Meme even brought out some sparklers for the kids. Amy was a little afraid at first (she once burned her hand on one) but after awhile, she was ok. And anytime I tried to take a picture of Jackson, he made this face. So who knows.

I love watching the kids play together. The kids were running through the sprinkler and once they started to get wet they all took their shirts off. When I asked Amy why her shirt was off she said, "Because Jackson and Maddox have theirs off." Hmm.... I guess we haven't covered "girls leave their shirts on" yet.

They also reeked havoc on the guest/play room. Or otherwise known as "the bed Sarah and Will sleep on." I'm glad I *forgot* to make it that morning.

Anna's friend, Sydney, threw her a baby shower on Monday night. I was too busy talking to get many pictures, but I did manage a few.

Katherine Marshall (I can't remember her married name) and Donna Jenkins

Skye Lineback and Jane Kassow

Skye and Anna

Childhood friends. These girls used to do a lot together!
Skye Lineback, Anna and Sydney Bradford (she's married too, but I can't remember her new name either)
It was a nice shower and Anna got lots of clothes for her little man. They think they've decided on "Grayson" for a name. (I only announce that here because I know Anna never updates her blog to announce it herself). I'm not sure that it was 'official' until Adeline started telling everyone that "Baby Grayson" was in Anna's tummy. So I guess Adeline made it official. :)

Speaking of which- she is just the cutest little thing. Her hair is SO curly and it just fits her personality. I can't remember what she was doing but all of a sudden Dad goes, "Adeline, you are wacky." haha- ahh Dad. Will LOVES her, but she's not so keen on Will. Will also likes to play rough (the 'boy' in him comes out) and she'd say, "Don't push me." Of course, he'd push her again. Then she started running away with the toys. He'd chase/find her and that would send her running again. It was so funny to watch.

Another funny time was when Adeline wouldn't eat her dinner. She'd run off to play. So Mom would started chasing her with a fork full of food. They'd go around and around the living room, never slowing down. It was hysterical to watch. Eventually Mom would get a bite in and start all over again. Will thought this was so funny that he'd start running too. Needless to say, feeding the grandkids gave Mom her workout.

Well, its finally happened folks, Dad is officially worn out. I mean, really. Anyone that knows my Dad knows that he's always working, always going. It's all caught up to him because now he's just plain exhausted. Yesterday Anna and I died laughing when he fell asleep, in the middle of the day, checking his email. We could hear snoring and thought it was Tyler (just because he was the only one sleeping) but upon further investigation, Dad had fallen asleep, just like this at the computer desk. And he was O.U.T. for a good 40 minutes (he has since defended himself saying he had already finished checking his email).

Little Tyler was wonderful throughout the entire trip. He slept a LOT, even doing 6 hour stretches most nights (which at 3 months, is a miracle compared to my other two). He just sat in his chair, or loved being held by any willing to hold him. He talked up a storm yesterday and that was sweet to watch. He's such a good baby.

Will did have 2 seizures on Friday night. That wasn't fun. We were at a concert at church. The Utah Valley Children's Choir was in town (boy were they good!!) and Mom/Dad were hosting 3 of the girls that night. While we were there, I was in the hall getting Tyler to sleep and when I came back in, Mom said she thought Will had a fever. Sure enough, he was hot. This was at the end of the program, so we left (Dad drove a separate car to bring the girls home) and stopped by the drug store to get some Tylenol and Ibuprofen for Will (I carry some with me, but I only had a little). As soon as we left the drug store, he had his first seizure. I was driving, so I quickly pulled over, jumped out the of car and got him out of his seat. It was also raining (of course) so Mom came around and held an umbrella over us, since I had Will laying down on the running board of the van. Luckily it lasted only a minute. When we got home, I put him to bed and he had another. We were able to get some Tylenol in him and soon his fever broke. The poor thing. He had been seizure-free since January 8th. But these were actually "ok" in the seizure world since they were fever induced. It's the non fever ones that are more scary. Once his fever broke, he was fine and slept most of the night. He was a tad restless, but that's to be expected. I kept him on Tylenol and Ibuprofen over the weekend and he's been fine. So it's a bummer, but he's fine.

Aside from the seizure thing it was a great weekend. We always miss the Ben Nagel family when we are all together, we definitely aren't complete without them! Hopefully we can see them soon. But it was great to see everyone else. We probably won't see Anna again until after Grayson is born (she's due next month). Also, school starts soon and we won't be as "free" to travel as we have in the past. Little Amy will be a Kindergartner soon! Crazy!! Anyhow- we had a great trip!

  1. Such a wonderful collection of pictures. Looks like all enjoyed the trip. I love the one of Amy with Walker. They both seem so intent on whatever it is between them. I knew your dad had a breaking point, but with the nap, he is probably up and going again. Glad you had such a good time. Memory making is always such fun. Love always.

  2. Judging from all the happy faces and fun all were having I know the trip was enjoyed by all.
Sorry Will had the seizures again. I wonder if all the excitment had anything to do with them. I'm so glad you were not alone in the car when it happened.
I really got a kick out of the picture with Amy and Walker. He sure is a huge dog.
Glad all of you were together as I know the kids always love being with eachother.
Thanks for all the pictures. Adeline sure has beautiful hair--the lucky little girl.
Love to all of you, Gram
