Yesterday was a fun family day around here.... or rather somewhat lazy family day.... Neither kid slept well the night before so we all slept in a little (7am is sleeping in around here).
I needed to run a few errands so I gladly took Lee's new car and hit the town. I LOVE driving that thing! On the way home I ran into an estate sale. What fun! I found this adorable old highchair and knew it had to be mine. It needs a little love, but isn't it adorable!!!???!! (we sold our other highchair before we moved.)
It was a beautiful day out, so Amy declared we needed a picnic lunch. I made some sandwiches and raided the cabinets and we took it all outside. Eating is always more fun in the fresh air.
After that, the kids played for a long time outside. I love for them to get fresh air, but I can't always stay out long by myself, because Will tends to run away.... and well, at this stage in my pregnancy- I just can't catch him. So I was glad that Lee was here!! While Lee played/chased the kids, I worked a little on my table. I figured out how to make it not so wobbly! Woohoo! Now it needs a little paint, a lot of sanding and a few coats of polyurethane, then I'll post pics!
(at this point, I called Mom who answered with, "Aren't you watching conference?" Oops! I had gotten the times confused and we missed the entire 1st session)
All the fresh air and running around made everyone overly tired. So we ALL took naps! Yes, even anti-sleep Amy! It was wonderful!! (for the record, I DO take a nap everyday. :) We woke up in time for session 2 to start and enjoyed watching that.
If you remember, I gave Lee a year's worth of date nights for Valentines Day. Only, we were waaaaay behind- hadn't even used the February one yet! Shameful, I know. So we decided to combine Feb and March and have a fun night. We got O'Charley's To Go, got a few groceries for today, let the kids pick out a toy at the dollar store and then rented a movie. Since the kids had long naps, we got a movie for them too. We watched "The Muppets" as a family and then sent them to bed and watched "The Help" together.
Both kids loved "The Muppets," Will even sat through most of it! He entertained us with some dancing at the end. I'll have to post that later.
Anyhow- that was our Saturday. It was fun all being together and not really having any kind of schedule. It's actually really strange to think that in just a few weeks, we'll have another added to the bunch!

What a nice day, wish ours had been so pretty. Yucky gloomy we sure got spoiled a couple weeks ago. Glad the hair thing is working out. Keep resting. Love always.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your lazy hanging out days now, because once the baby comes, it's all over for awhile!! ha, ha. No, you will probably get a great baby, I think we are just cursed. I keep asking myself why I thought 2 kids was hard? Then I remember because I was pregnant! ha, ha. You are almost there! Good luck in the next few weeks!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a good time with your little picnic! It's always fun to do things a little different.
ReplyDeleteI got home on Thursday and had a good flight. The plane was about ten minutes early. That was nice. I had a great time at your Moms and at your house too. Both have great new digs. I have my surgery on Thursday morning and will be glad to have it over with.
It's been cold here since I got home but today the temp went up to sixty so that is a nice promise.
Take care and be sure to take your naps. Love to you all, Gram
