Taking it Easy

It hasn't been a very adventurous week. We've mostly been just hanging around. Monday it was warm enough to play outside for a little while.....

Monday night, we thought Amy was asleep. After a good while she came out of her room and went into the bathroom to wash her hands. She then came onto the couch, where Lee and I were. Then I smelled it-- nailpolish!! (She had gotten some play make-up for Christmas and in it was nailpolish.) So during that "quiet" time she was actually painting her nails! Fingers and Toes. I have to say- I was quite impressed! She did a great job for an almost 4 yr old on her first try.

It's hard to see but she really did do a great job. And amazingly- it ISN'T all over her room/carpet/ bedspread. She was really neat with it. Completely amazes me. She also had some glittery stuff on her feet and when I asked her about it, she said she "just likes to be sparkly." To which Lee replied, "Oh no! She really IS a girl!" (remember, before Will came along he spend many hours teaching her about superheros and other 'boy' things) Her "girlyness" has been making us laugh lately! (She did paint her nails once more and then I confiscated it, only allowing it's use in the bathroom)

Will had been pretty cute too. Getting closer and closer to 'really' crawling. He's started throwing little tantrums when he doesn't get what he wants or when Amy takes something from him. He's also developed quite a scream! And he's always stealing my green smoothies!

I spent a few hours yesterday with my friend, Kerry, making the CUTEST invitations for a church activity. I don't have a picture, so you'll just have to take my word for it. Then last night we had the missionaries over for dinner. One of them looks, talks and has the same mannerisms as my cousin, Mike. It was uncanny! Mike- you have a twin in Petal, MS! They were a lot of fun and Amy took to the Mike look-a-like and kept bringing him toy after toy from her room to show him. Which we were happy about because usually she's too shy to even look at the elders.

Lee has started really working on his dissertation. His goal is to complete Chapter 1 in January (Ch 2 in Feb, Ch 3 in March....) So he's back in school mode. Classes don't start until the 18th and then he'll be teaching as well.

Well, thats about it for now. Amy is going over to Savannah's to play later on and it'll just be Will and I. I'm hoping to get in a nap! :)

Hope you got a nap too. I went shopping with gram to Walmart. I think I'm going to take a nap too. Sunny and bright here but no playing outside in a minute it might be a snowstorm. The advantage of lake effect. Love always.

I guesss I exhausted Aunt Lynn! What a wimp!! We did get what we went for though so I can't complain. The snow has stopped for the time being. We have had about two and a half inches so far and I hope that's all we will get. It has been really pretty though as everything is all clean looking again. I got some bird seed and when I got home I discovered I needed both kinds I use and I only got one so now I have to remember to stop again for the king I was out of--oh well that the way the cookie crumbles I guess. Love the look on Amy's face when she was showing her fingernails. It looked like she was expecting a scolding. She sure does catch on how to do things fast. Pretty soon Will will keep her under control. They sure are cute kids. Much love to you all, Gram
