Anna's Kids Come Here

On our way home from Anna's, we had a slight mishap.... Mom and Dad were going to bring Anna's kids to us on their way home a few days after we left. Anna and Stratton were in charge of Youth Conference and we were going to watch their kids. For mom and dad to do that- we needed to switch cars for a few days. Us taking mom and dads and leaving ours for them. So we did. We have a smaller trailer that we put plastic tubs on and strap down. We did the same thing with mom and dad's car, only we learned later that their muffler is a lot higher- basically in line with the tubs. (Where our muffler sits under the car.) What happened is after 4 hours of driving- the heat from the muffler melted the plastic tub and nearly started a fire. Everything inside was scorched or melted. Naturally it was almost all of my stuff. What a bummer that was! But we are counting our blessings because the fact that a fire didn't break out- is truly a miracle. I was able to replace some of the items and the others I'll just do without.

Amy had her first dance this weekend. She got together with 3 girlfriends and they all "Got ready" together. This was the only photo I got. She had fun. Ask Lee how he felt about his daughter dancing with boys! hahaha

The Allen's came to town!! Mom and Dad dropped them off and left them with us for an entire weekend! Lee and I were responsible for SEVEN kids!

I bought a little splash pad thinking they would like some water play. Despite the baby print (it was cheap!) the boys had fun until it started raining. See all those shoots of water? Well the most common phrase I heard was "Look! I'm peeing!" Boys. Every generation is the same......

Lee and I were even able to sneak off to the temple one evening. I took this picture because there was NO LINE at Chick Fil A. No line! At 6pm on a Saturday! I have never seen such a thing!

We took the kids to an outdoor movie. The movie was just ok, but I think they liked the ambiance.

I laughed when I saw this room. Destroyed! I didn't care though. It can all be cleaned up.

We even took all 7 to church. And lived to tell about it.

All the fun wore little Abe out. He crashed Sunday afternoon.

I liked Abe's cereal box fort.

And all too soon it was time for them to go home. Anna and I met halfway and handed off the kids. We had a great weekend. It went perfectly. You would think it would be insane, but it wasn't. It was loud at times, but that's to be expected. I told Anna I was giving them back overly tired and under nourished. Oh well- that's what happens when you come to Fun Aunt Sarah's! hahaha.
