Isolation Week Seven THE END

Seven weeks. Who would have ever thought? Well, truth be told the isolation thing went on longer, but we broke free. Thank heavens we live in the south. I get the whole social distancing thing and 'flatten the curve' thing. I really do. But our economy is in shambles. People are losing their jobs left and right. And no one can find toilet paper. It's insane. So while Tennessee officially opened back up,
we will still stay at home and be smart about our decisions. The kids haven't been out much. Lee goes into work a few times a week and I only go out to Lowes or the grocery store. I personally find nothing wrong with this. I don't think this COVID-19 is going away anytime soon so we just need to live with it. Who knows if that's right. But it's what the Wade's are going with.

Well, we broke the 'offical' stay at home orders by a few days. I was talking to mom on Saturday (the day of the pouring rain Pokemon) and said something to the effect of "When do you guys think you will travel or allow people to come to you?" Her reply? "Why don't you come tomorrow?" She said, "We've been isolated for 40 days, you've been isolated for 40 days- I think we are alright."

So we took off the next morning.

Plus, Lee wanted to check on his mom what hadn't been feeling well so it was good timing.

So April 26-29 were spent in GA. We pretty much continued our calm and carefree way of life.

Tyler (and later Will, but I don't have a picture) went on a drive with Papa.

I mostly sat on their newly finished, and ever so gorgeous, back porch. Swinging from the bed was the best.

Tyler made us laugh at the different ways he would sleep.

Lee and I took walks every morning and evening. Well, we do that back home as well, but in Marietta there were so many beautiful things to see. At home we just go up and down our street a million times.

We played a little more Pokemon Go. This time hunting the things in the National Cemetery.

While waiting on Will to do something, Amy showed she can still do a backbend. She walked a good ways like that as well.

Lee went to visit his mom for a day. Will talked Papa into getting take out Mexican and another day Chick fil A. He knows how to talk his way into anything. Mom and I spent hour after hour sitting on the porch talking. Tyler became a whiz on the pinball machine. We just had a great time! We hated to leave. But we did. Lee had to go back into the office and Amy had a drs appointment and an appointment to clean out her locker. And since we really weren't supposed to be gone, it's not something we could change. So we sadly left on Wednesday afternoon. We hope to go back soon!

When we got home, I checked the milkweed (of course) and the babies had hatched!! You can hardly see them in the pictures as they are the TINIEST things. They are so cute. We moved them to the enclosure so they'd be safe and sound. We counted about 15 of them. But could have miscounted because darn those things are tiny! And they are really hidden in the leaves.

(this one is really blown up)

Off to growing they go! Typically they eat for 2 weeks, then go into their chrysalis for 2 weeks then come out and the process starts over again. However, it's been a bit chilly here (nights in the 40s) so it will be interesting to see if that slows them down any. They typically like the warmer weather.

Meme bought the kids a rocket launcher awhile ago, but with all the delays it finally came while we were gone. It shoots really high and we've all had fun with it!

April 30:
Amy got this cute shirt from her friend. She said, "its doesn't make sense, but I love it!" She had to clean out her locker today and was quite sad on the way home from that. I think all the kids are feeling that way this year. I feel especially bad for the seniors. At least Amy has one more year at the middle school, so she will get to see a lot of her friends again before they depart to different high schools.

May 1: Tennessee is officially back open! So 40 something odd days and we survived. I'll admit, I didn't think it would have been possible at the start of all this. Of course, I never thought it would last 40 some days either. (I know most states have not reopened yet. TN and GA are among the first.)

We still plan to stay as isolated as we can. It's been nice not shopping and making do with things. I've gotten a LOT of stuff done (hello drywall upstairs!) that I wouldn't be able to have done without this quarantine. And I'm grateful for that. I'm a little lazier than I thought I would be as far as the kids and their schoolwork and any kind of schedule. But that really shouldn't be surprising as that seems to be my personality. There's a reason I used to have a blog titled "Somewhat Planned." That's kind of my motto for life. I have an idea of what I want and usually find a round about way to get there.

One thing I forgot to mention is that I have been selling seeds on etsy. I didn't tell anyone because I wanted to see what it would do on it's own. I've made over $500! WOW! Can you even believe it?! I sold loofah, sunflower and 2 types of okra seed that I harvested from last years garden. And thanks to this pandemic and the lack of seeds everywhere, I have completely sold out. That is literally thousands and thousands of seeds. It's been crazy! But it's been fun. I've always wanted to sell something without having to talk to anyone. haha. I am NOT a saleman! Anyways, that's been my other project. Just continually filling orders. It's also nice to be sold out too.

My Master Gardener classes have continued online. I have to give them credit, they have been amazing. They could have easily cancelled the program and instead they spent time recording all sorts of videos for us to get our credits. It's been great. It looks like I'm still on track to get the title "Master Gardener." (Graduation isn't until December.)

So there you go. That's my update for this week!
