Isolation Week One

Well, we made it though the first week of the Coronovirus Self-quarantine. Our county has closed down schools and Lee's university has gone to online classes. The restaurants and gyms have closed down (unless you do a delivery order) but that's about it. Most people are trying to "social distance" as best they can. The gas prices are the lowest they've been for a long time ($1.82 the other day) which is a bummer because no one can go anywhere to take advantage of them.

March 16, Day 1:
Amy and Tyler made a leprechaun trap. Will refused to participate.

March 17, Day 2:

They didn't trap the leprechaun but he left his usual treat.

There is no indoor recess for these kiddos! Luckily we had enough umbrellas so no one had to argue about sharing.

We made Olive Trees to go along with our Jacob 5 scripture study. Will didn't want to participate in this either (his is the one least twisted, and he only did that because I'm sure I threatened something.)

The boys decided going outside (it was cold!) and pouring cold water on themselves was a good idea. The hot water ran out as they were both trying to take warm baths at the same time.

March 18, Day 3:

Amy finally got her glasses. (she's been dying for them for years and the doctor finally told her "they might help a little.") Her prescription is pretty low, but whatever makes her happy. She mow has braces and glasses. She still wants red hair and freckles, but I told her those were out of her control.

I've got lots of stuff growing the garden and even more still sprouting. I'm hoping to really feed us this year!

Tyler did "deck of card math." He would turn 2 cards over and add them together. Then he did it with subtraction and Will did it with multiplication. Our school district hasn't given us any information regarding homeschooling, so I'm a little at a loss on what "school" to do with them.

March 19, Day 4:
Lee stayed home (he's been going into the office) so Will made a schedule of things for them to do all day. He loves it when Dad stays home.

Everyone was on a device for awhile.

This was the only day it wasn't raining so I took advantage and worked in the garden all day. I took Amy with me to get a cattle panel to use as an arbor. But it wouldn't fit into the van so I had to return it and come home empty handed. I was quite bummed.

I filled out our census. Everyone fill out your census!

We trimmed a large tree and created a big new burn pile. I'm also installing a few more raised beds so I worked on them a little. I need more soil so there's that.....

This is where I should mention that Lee got a new job! Well, he got promoted with his old one. He's now the Department Chair. The other guy stepped down and they offered it to him. He's excited,  I think. There's a lot for him to do so he's been going in everyday to try and get caught up with it all.

March 20, Day 5:
I ventured out and volunteered at a Master Gardener event. TN Tree day, where we handed out trees people had ordered. It was fun to be out and talking to people I didn't give birth to. All while staying 6 feet apart, of course!

I came home and planted one of the beds and then promptly covered it to keep out the birds and rabbits.
I guess I didn't take many more pictures this day!

March 21, Day 6:
I played in the garden because it didn't rain. I have no idea what anyone else did.

March 22, Day 7:
The Sabbath day! We had sacrament meeting at home, which was a little weird. I think everyone felt that way. It's so different from our usual routine!

We played on the Family Search Tree app and uploaded our faces to different time period photos. There are some fun things on that app.

The neighbors dog got out and our kids were more than happy to catch her and wait until the owner could come get her. She's a sweet dog!

Last weekend, at the tornado tree cut down, apparently Lee and I got into some poison oak. His is on his leg, mine is on my wrist. It's finally getting better, but man, I hate that stuff. I'm just glad it didn't spread anywhere else!

And that was it for this week. We aren't that exciting, and this virus is proving how lazy I can be! Geesh, I will have to try and remedy that. (Of course the non-stop rain hasn't helped much either!)
