This past week it has rained like crazy. So much that there was flooding all over. The kids school was cancelled Thursday because of it. Then we were expecting really cold weather to come through Thursday night. Because of the expected weather and the still flooded areas, they cancelled school again for for Friday.
And we woke up to our first snow fall.
Exciting isn't it? haha. Oh man. Our winter gear is strongly lacking this season. First off, the boys wear their gloves all though the year for various 'costumes.' Because of that, all gloves are lost. I have no idea where their hats are either. Will lost his winter jacket at school. I went to look for it but haven't found it yet. We gave Amy's jacket to Adeline a tad early. We actually thought it was her old one, and Amy didn't really wear it, so we sent it via our pack mule (mom and dad) and didn't think of it again... until it snowed. haha. Tyler does have a jacket, but he's the only one. So this morning was hodgepodge of gear to keep them warm. It really didn't matter because they only stayed outside for an hour at most. And given that we only have "snow" once a year, it truly isn't a big deal. Layers work just great! Amy is making good use of the Rochester sweatshirt I bought for her at the airport this last trip. (She had lots of layers under that!) But next year I'm going to work on being a bit more prepared!
It's supposed to get warmer though after tonight and we are good with that. One "snow" fall is good enough for us! The waters have receded as well so all will be back to normal soon. Happy snow day!
