Over the past week 7 of our monarchs have emerged. The first one happened last Sunday and needless to say we were almost late to church! We missed the first butterfly but the 2nd one came out while we were gawking at #1. Then #3 emerged and we were just in love. We left them alone until after church and released them.
The next morning 2 more came out. We let those go after school and a few days later we welcomed two more. We've had a total of 7, 5 boys and 2 girls. We have one more left and fingers crossed, it will come out this week.
We have just loved watching this entire process. We can't wait to do it again next year!
Males have two spots on their lower wings. Females don't have the spots.
They will migrate to Mexico... so happy trails our friends!
