Amy the Photographer

Amy got an underwater camera awhile ago. This summer she's been taking pictures like crazy!

These are from the fireworks on the 4th of July:

Then she took these of our neighbors chickens and around the garden:

And lastly she took it to the pool. These are our favorites thus far. Mostly because they are hilarious.

And there you have it- photos from photographer Amy.

Happy 4th of July!

Coming off our weekend high we hosted a 4th of July party with friends old and new.

I made these tie-dye shirts for us. I didn't make Lee one b/c I didn't think he would wear it. Turns out he would have and then I felt bad. Sorry Lee. I'll make you one next year.

It was pretty hot out and I was a little nervous about the heat and all the people. We moved the canopy and all the chairs to the back, shady area of the yard and pulled out a box fan that we found in our attic (left from previous people.) I think the temperature wasn't too unbearable and no one was sweating profusely.

I made a ton of pulled pork and chicken. Everyone else brought sides. I think it worked out nicely.

These two.. Will and Cora... if they ever get together we will have lots of photos to pull out at their reception. I love this one with Cora's Dad (Mike) watching from the background.

We invited a new family to the ward (well, we are new as well!) These are two of their kids and their dad has a tradition where they blow-up cans. It actually sounds more dangerous than it is. At first I was like, "okkaayyy....." but after I saw it done it didn't bother me at all. It really just shoots an empty can high into the sky. You can even catch it when it comes down. The kids had a blast watching this over and over. (And that girl is 21! She looks a lot younger!)

One of our other new friends had a birthday and her daughter brought a cake to surprise her.

Everyone packed up and left around 7. Most were going to the local fireworks show. We didn't want to do that so we cleaned up the yard and planned to spend the evening in the air conditioning. Right when we were about done, the Olsens came back because Roxann had left her purse. They were shooting fireworks at their house and invited us to do that. We decided to go over there and we had a good time.

While sitting there, this random dog showed up. He was shaking like crazy (the 4th being a scary holiday for all the animals!) He had a collar but no tag so we knew he was someones beloved pet. He was also really well behaved, never barked, snipped and even sat if you told him to do so. He really was a sweet dog. And he kept right by all of us. When we went to leave, he followed us to our car and even jumped it. We could not get that darned dog out of there. I was laughing so hard. The moment you got him out, he immediately went through another door, stepped over a child, basically did anything he could to be in that car. Eventually, our friends came and got him so we could get in the car and leave. I hope he found his home!

It was a great 4th of July! Everyone slept in late the next morning as everyone was worn out! Which is how it should be. It means everyone had a lot of fun! Happy 4th!

Will's Baptism Weekend!! PLUS MeMe/Papa and the Allen's Visit!

Our sweet Will was baptized on June 30th. Meme and Papa as well as Anna's family came for the big event. It was great having everyone here! And yes, we all fit in the downstairs of our house! It'll be amazing when the upstairs gets done!

The cousins always have a great time. We always laugh because they tend to pair off by birth order and not necessarily by age. But regardless, they always have the best time together.

Even Anna got in on the slip n slide.

The boys decided that drinking from the slip n slide was more fun. Silly boys!

Anna bought a bunch of paint balls for everyone. I love her serious face while she was giving them directions. ha!

Sweet baby Abe and Grandpa

The boys painted some wooden animals. They were so cute asking every few minutes if they could have "Boy Time."

Amy doing Adeline's hair, Adeline misting Abe with the spray bottle....

Lee teaching Stratton how to play a game called Dicemasters.

Meme brought sparklers. It was funny to watch some of their faces!

Bedtime stories with Stratton are the best!

Mom and Dad had to get back home and the Allen's got to stay one more day! We took the kids to a new Soda shop and played in the water and played on the grassy hangout area.

Amy's new talent is bending in half and walking in that position.

Adeline got in on the fun.

That night we rearranged sleeping arrangements a bit. Amy and Adeline started off in Amy's bed (we later moved them to an air mattress in the living room.)

The boys took over "The Boys Room."

The next morning we cleaned up while waiting on the Allen's car which never got fixed. (Their a/c had broken and were trying to get it fixed before their trek back. They get the Amazing Award as since it wasn't fixed, they drove back home with no a/c!)

We had one final dance party and all too quickly it was over. It was such a fun weekend!
