April brought in a fun start. After Lee's surgery, mom and dad went up to visit Anna's family and then came back down. The first night there were here we had a tornado.
Tornado threats aren't uncommon in the south. we are used to it. But this one was crazy close. Like the news says "If this is your street, you;d better not be listening to m,e you need to be taking cover" type of close. I had fallen asleep as had mom and dad but Lee kept an eye on the news. When we saw it was headed straight for us, I went and woke them up. We all huddled into our hall bath because it went right over us. You could hear the whooshing. Luckily it didn't touch down and it kind of jumped right over our town. Areas on either side of us were effected and there was a lot of damage. But thankfully it wasn't a ton of damage, because those things destroy communities!
Dad on the toilet, mom on a footstool, all the kids and dog in the tub, Lee and I standing my the door. It was a tight fit!
But once it passed by us and everything was fine. We got to enjoy General Conference with them and other fun moments.
Marty always likes to curl up with Dad.
MeMe brought another fun game. This one had surprises under the cups. Whatever you picked you got to keep.
Tyler got the $20 bill. He is so happy he's crying!
I really felt that the ward needed to celebrate Easter in a better way. So I volunteered to take charge of a Ward Seder dinner. It wasn't authentic, but we hit the high points and brought Christ more into the celebration.
The kids all playing around in the car.
We got our new roof! After we got our order in, I was so nervous I chose the wrong color. But after it went up, I realized I had chosen the perfect one. Phew!
Will helped out at a Master Gardener project, I got a new hat and Marty had a perfect yearly checkup!
One of our chickens was broody- which means she wants to hatch an egg. So we let her sit on three to see what would happen. One ended up being a dud. But then she hatched two chicks! They are 2 days apart. They are the cutest things and we are in love.
This hen is always curious. She always has her head perked up and looking around.
