April

Amy shot archery in the state competition. All the schools did, we just forgot to sign Tyler up in time. oops! But it was in a huge arena, so it was a little different watching her.

I love it when they are all getting along. Overall, they are pretty good with each other overall though. So that's nice.

We knew we had a mouse in the house, but neither Amy or myself could stand a standard kill trap. So we bough this one. The mouse was so cute! And even cuter when we took to the farm down the road!

Tyler loves Mac n Cheese and I love that he finally learned to make it on his own.

Some friends from Amy's seminary class. From left to right:
Jonathan Harris, Preston Forrester, Mason Jones, Parker Jones, Summer Dossett, Jordan Pascual, Alicia Solomon, Amy, Sydney Burk, Kate Forrester, Pam Simpson

We had a "get to know you" dinner with a local Muslim group. It was so fun getting to know these women!

But I had to laugh- I was Mike Wazowski that night!

The chickies entered their "teen" years.

The boys have built a fort out of random crap in a mini woods behind our house. We only let them play in it in the winter as I 'm sure it's a have for critters.

It was a the best day! You know how I love my monarchs. Well, I had just come home from the nursery where I bought 2 milkweed plants. I took them out of the car, set them outside the garage while I worked on something else. All of a sudden a monarch flew up and laid a bunch of eggs! It was SO COOL to watch!

Will and I visited our sick friend Carmen Corns with our other friend Cynthia West one day.

A robin built a nest in the rungs of our ladder and laid eggs. They never hatched though, which was sad.

Then it was Tyler's TENTH birthday! Cute boy!! We celebrated all day.

Of course we went to Nachos for dinner. Salvador Rocha (the manager) always likes to see if he can still pick them up.

Then home for cake and ice cream with the neighbors.

Sarah went on a few hikes with her Master Gardener group. Hiking with MG's is funny- you have never walked down a trail so slowly. They stop and ooh and ahh at every single blooming thing. You definitely aren't hiking for time with this group!

Then I stopped by a State Park on my way home. This was Bledsoe Creek. It was really pretty!

On the MG hike we saw a pair of Scarlett Tanagers. We must have watched them for about 20 mins. Apparently they are shy birds and rarely seen. One guy said this was only the 2nd time he's seen them in all his life so he was really excited!

Amy and I went to a soccer game to cheer on a church friend.

At the end of the month I took a weekend trip to babysit Grandma. I can't remember why now, but mom and dad both had to go somewhere. So I jumped at the chance. You can see she was really difficult.
