Someone gave Lee a non-working video game guitar. He thought he could get it to work and when he couldn't, he threw it away. Well, the kids found it and decided to take it apart. They were busy for nearly two hours breaking it apart, unscrewing it all and taking apart all the pieces. Will said he wants to build a robot with the parts. (This is when I just shrug.)
Karen was generous to buy a lot of school supplies for the kids. I had to get a few small things myself and once I had it all we put it all over the floor and the kids organized what they each needed. I love school supplies but I'm always glad to get this part over! (Thank you Karen!!)
Tyler and Amy found some paint. And of course if there is paint involved, Amy and Tyler will paint themselves before they paint any paper. It made for some dirty bath water!
The boys have been 'hearing' voices through their walkie talkies. One day it was even saying their names. They were a little freaked out. The 'voices' also kept giving codes which they would look up on the computer to try and figure out where the person lives. It's been great fun for all of us!
Oh our drama with lawnmowers! I don't know what we do but we just cannot seem to keep those things going. This time, we went electric. This thing is so quiet! I kept wondering when Lee was going to start mowing and it turned out he was halfway done. It also gave the best cut, so here's hoping this one lasts for many years!
Amy eating leftover chinese... with skewers. We don't have any chopsticks so she improvised.
She's still making up crazy games with the boys and they devour every second. They just love Amy! (Well, truthfully, everyone does!)
The boys school had a kickoff to school starting last weekend. It was actually a great idea and a lot of fun. Each grade level had a game booth and the kids could meet their teachers informally and play games with them. Plus, there were hot dogs and bounce houses, so basically the boys were in heaven. Well, it was SO hot and humid that at times it felt like hell. Ah, gotta love August in the south.
Lately Tyler has been spiffing up his look. He likes to lint roll his clothes (like his father!) He likes having his hair done and his clothes tucked in. He is cracking us up. (Will is currently the complete opposite!)
A friend from church gave us a bunch of clothes for the boys along with a bucket of toys her son had outgrown. The boys thought it was Christmas going through that thing. It kept them busy for quite awhile!
On the last day, the boys and Tristan played all day. Tyler and Tristan are in the same class this year and no one is happy about it. While they play ok during the day, Tyler and Tristan tend to argue and fight a LOT. They are both 2 very strong personalities. It doesn't help that Will typically takes Tristan's side as well. Oh the drama of the 3 kids!
And that's about it. School starts tomorrow!
