Cute Kids Today

Granny (Lee's mom) gave this sweet dress to Amy for her birthday. It was much appreciated! And we actually didn't have any long sleeved dresses. Amy's been dying to wear it (she'll only wear dresses on Sunday's), and when she put it on she got the 'Anna wiggle' in excitement. (My sister, Anna, has this wiggle/shimmy thing she does when she tries on an outfit she that likes)

Then I asked Amy if I could take her picture. She said "yes" and then said, "Let's also make a movie so I can tell her thank you." Amy got lots and lots of compliments on it. You did a good job, Granny!

Of course I had to get some pictures of Will in his sweater vest and shoes. I think sweater vests look so cute on baby's! And this was the first time he was able to wear his shoes. (and kept them on all day!)

Apparently our ward is a bunch of wanna be felons because every week someone tells us they want to steal our kids. We don't know how we did it, and we are completely biased, but agree with them. We have 2 cuties! :)

Will is a peeker now. Have to keep your toys away from him for a while Amy. He is so cute peering around the corner of the door. I love the expression on Amy's face showing off her LOVE dress and slippers. The girls are like the Bopsy twing. I like Amy's hair cut too. It could even be a little bit shorter. I think it will curl more if it isn't so long. She looks so cute and happy. I haven't made the soups yet, but I will be doing so in the next couple weeks. I now have about four new ones to try out.. Yummy!! Love to all, Gram

I especially love the slippers with the new leggings. Will always looks so happy and now he is mobile no telling what fun he'll have keeping happy. I love Amy's hair it does make her look older then again, I can't believe she's 4 already. Can't wait till mom tries the soup hehe. I always benefit. Love always.

There will be no peace for you now that Will knows how to find you. I look forward to trying the soup too.

Pesky Brother and a New Outfit

Will surprised the heck out of me last night. I saw something out of the corner of my eye- and jumped. It was Will coming to find me! Awh....! (SO not used to him crawling yet)

Mom sent Amy this cute outfit for her birthday. (I was actually surprised that she wore it. She adamantly only wears anything resembling a skirt to church only. But I think the fact that MeMe sent it won her over. Yes, can we say "Anna Junior" anyone???)

I found these slippers at Walmart on Clearance for $1 a piece.
So I was a big spender and bought them matching ones.
(apparently Savannah likes them because she brought them back today)

I don't know if you can tell- but I trimmed Amy's hair a little. It's now right below her shoulders (it curls up). I did it because it tangles easily and she has a very tender head- so she screamed anytime I brushed it. This shorter length seems to have helped. But she looks so much older to me now. It's cute though.

Yes, as you can tell, I'm starting a new blog. It won't replace this one- but it's more of a tutorial/show and tell of all my crazy projects. I tried starting a separate crafting and vegan blog- but let's face it- my interests are too wide- so this is a place for everything (aside from family stuff- which is what this one is for. This one is private, the other will be public). I have a lot to do to it- it's still pretty much "under construction" but it will be fun once I get it totally up and running.

Our Good News

First thing AWESOMELY first............ Lee's got an interview!! WooHoo!! At Middle Tennessee State University. (He's already had 2 phone interviews) It's in Murfreesboro, TN. It's about 40 mins outside of Nashville (I LOVE Nashville) and about 3 hours from mom and dad's house. His interview is on February 10th, so everyone offer lots and lots and LOTS of prayers! We really want this job offer!!

Another cool thing- I saw this site and thought it's be fun to pass along. Ever wonder what your home "style" is?? Take this to find out...... http://www.stylishhome.com/Design/Style-Maker-Quiz#
This was mine-  "Bespoke Classic".
Details...

Details of craftsmanship with natural materials surround you. Your kitchen is your prize. Decorative, finished… elegant. Resort, retreat, getaway - all inside your bedroom. Your decorative canvas stretches to the property lines. Enjoying elegant outdoor fare. Afternoon refreshments on the patio Pre-war, upper east side attitude. Casual and relaxed… never insisting on formality. .

I thought it was pretty true. Maybe that "Bespoken Classic" home resides in Tennessee??? Hmmmm..... haha.

Such a Cute Boy, who LOVES graham crackers!

Amy is my little helper. She always says, "I LOVE helping you Mom!" This morning she wanted to help me make pancakes. (Oh- and I'll apologize up front for her hair. She got what I think is candy, all in it- so you can't brush it. She also needs a little trim. So a good head washing and hair cutting is happening later tonight.)

Then this afternoon- she still needed something to do, so she helped me make freezer jam. It's from frozen berries- which definitely aren't as good as fresh, but definitely much better than store bought.

What fun. Did you say freezer jam? If so, you can buy Certo. It comes in a blue box and doesn't have to be heated. Much easier. You are producing quite a little cook. Good for you. Prayers are on the way. A few extra this time. Funny thing is I almost voted for that town cause I loved it's funny name. They always say go with your first instinct.

So how did the jelly turn out? It looks yummy!

Outside Work

I took the kids out for a short time yesterday. It was semi-warm out. But it rained last night and now it's cold again.

Brought out the walker so I wouldn't have to hold him.
The ground was kind of damp

And through all this outdoor fun, I did something I haven't done it a LONG time. I cleaned off the front porch. I'm SOOOOO tired of looking redneck

What a great day. Warm enough for no shoes? I'm really jealous. I do love the letters on the door it looks cute. Redneck you'll never be. Love always.

Your porch looks great! I like the letters on the door too. Glald you had a nice warm day we were at about 15 and today we are all the way up to 13 and it's after one o'clock. We are supposed to go to below zero tonight. We had about four inches of snow over night too. Winter is such fun????? Will sure has chubby feet and legs. Amy can find water everywhere just like you. Love to you all, Gram

I love the lettering! Does the other side say "Goodbye"?

You are so funny. Better watch out before long the entire house will be covered with vinyl. Come to think of it, maybe it's a good insulator? Haha!

Happy Birthday Amy!

Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to You, Happy Birthday Dear Sweet Amy.......

All in all- it was a fun day! Savannah was here all day and the girls just played and watched Matilda (twice).  I even got a little nap in while they were watching it. Or I should say that I passed out on the floor. It was lovely.

Ok- I've got to brag a little about the gifts..... The Kinectimals xbox game I got for FREE. Yep, free. I use swagbucks as my search engine and you get points for searching. (swagbucks.com) So I redeemed those for Amazon giftcards and then bought the game with that. Not bad for just browsing the internet! They have all sorts of gifts- I just choose the Amazon cards because I LOVE Amazon.

The 2 Pooh movies were also free. I've been saving my Disney Movie Reward points. (disneymovierewards.com) So, if you buy Disney movies- you'd better be logging in the points that come in the DVD. If you aren't- then send them to me. (wink, wink)

The ice cream cake I made- so the price of ice cream ($4), the cake mix ($1) and the frosting ($1.20) and for around $6- cheap as well. (Sidenote- years ago a friend told me to never put water in a cake mix b/c it drys it out. Use milk, soda, anything but water. I've always done that and my cakes are great (I do this for made from scratch cakes too). This time I thought, "I bet there's no difference and that the other liquid thing is silly." So I made this one with water. Um, yeah- shouldn't have done that. Totally dried it out. So my cake tip still stands- NEVER add water to a cake. I promise you'll appreciate me forever for that tip)

So all in all- a pretty cheap birthday. Score one for mommy!

Oh- and I got a call today asking for me to speak in church on Sunday. I was already teaching Relief Society and Lee and I start teaching the temple prep class during Sunday School.... so basically, for some people, the entire 3 blocks of church will be me. Poor people!  (Thank goodness my Relief Society lesson is already done- I've had a month to work on that)

Anyway- Happy Birthday Amy!! What a pretty, sweet, fun 4 year old you are! We are so blessed and LOVE being your parents!!

Oh darn it! Kristy, I never even thought of that!! Oh well, I guess it'll be nice to just get it all over with at once.

Happy birthday Amy! I can't believe it's been 4 years since you were born. Sarah, I'll have to try not adding water to my cake mix. I've never made it any other way. I've also never made an ice cream cake. Tell me how to do it.
